“Fundamentals”. The Festival of Rights arrives in Varese: from 7 to 14 April at the Library. Three days dedicated to three fundamental rights: welfare, peace and families

“Fundamentals”. The Festival of Rights arrives in Varese: from 7 to 14 April at the Library. Three days dedicated to three fundamental rights: welfare, peace and families.

The first edition of the literary festival dedicated to fundamental rights is underway. “Fundamentals”, in fact, is the three-day event born from the collaboration between the Municipality of Varese, SPI CGIL and People. The event will take place from 12 to 14 April in the Morselli room, inside the Civic Library in via Sacco. Each day will be dedicated to a right and will see the presentation of three books, in dialogue with those who deal with the relevant issues in the Varese area.

Present at the presentation press conference were Giacomo Licata, general secretary of Spi Cgil, and Stefano Catone of the People publishing house.

It starts on Friday 12 April at 17.00 pm, with meetings focused on the theme of welfare. Lorenzo Fronte, author of Compagni di Diritti, will present his works. The UN Convention on Rights of people with disabilities explained to primary school children, Alessandra Vescio author of Health is a gender right and Francesca Coin with The great resignations. The new refusal of work and the time to get your life back.

It continues on Saturday 13 April from 15.00pm, dealing with the topic of medium-high pace. It will be an opportunity to listen and dialogue with Francesco Vignarca, author of Nuclear disarmamentIt's time to ban nuclear weapons before it's too late, Piero Graglia, with The unnatural borderThe barrier between Israel and Palestine. Origins and motifs of a wall and Luca Radaelli of Emergency who will present One person at a time, Gino Strada.
The final day of Sunday 14 April, starting from 15.00 pm, will be dedicated to families and will see the interventions of Samuele Cafasso author of Children of the Rainbow, Stefania Prandi with The Consequences. Feminicides and the gaze of those who remain  and Matteo Grandi author of The X family.
On Saturday and Sunday, starting from 16pm, Fondamentali Kids will take place on the ground floor, with workshops dedicated to children and young people focused on the issues of activism and climate, curated by Serena D'Angelo. All the details are on the site www.festivalfondamentali.it.
