Francavilla Fontana (BR), the Carabinieri meet the students. Training seminars for the diffusion of the culture of legality.

On 26 and 30 January 2024, the Carabinieri of the Compbrondagnia of Francavilla Fontana, as part of the training seminars for the diffusion of the culture of legality, met the classes of the Primary School of the “Montessori-Bilotta” State Comprehensive Institute of Francavilla Fontana. The meeting, held by the Commander of the Company, Captain Alessandro Genovese, was attended by 100 very young students and the teaching staff.

During the meetings, many concrete examples adapted to the age groups of the interlocutors were addressed themes relating to the formation of the culture of legality, with particular reference to the phenomenon of Bullying in its different forms (physical, verbal and online) and theconscious use of "Social".

The importance of was highlighted prevent certain “incorrect” behaviors (sometimes underestimated by young people who feel "protected" by the screen) to avoid consequences, even very serious ones, and how to approach and use the various platforms intelligently, so that they are just a pleasant and modern way of "communicating" and make "friends".

Furthermore, the issue of gender violence and to situations of family difficulty which sometimes, unfortunately, lead to cases of domestic violence. The children, with an average age of 9/10 years, appeared particularly interested in everything that was the subject of discussion, as evidenced by a threshold of attention and participation in the debate that has always been high; in fact, numerous questions, personal experiences and doubts were expressed to the Officer.

Knowledge of the rules and, consequently, awareness of one's own actions and statements are among the first steps to be taken to help young people integrate into society, orienting them towards correct, respectful behaviour, in protection of individuality and inclusiveness, against any form of discrimination of any kind.

The meeting is part of a wider calendar of events which see the Carabinieri and the Provincial Command of Brindisi operating close to the younger generations, with the aim of increasing civic sense and trust towards the institutions.
