Foggia, dI am symbolic at the Immigration Office: Ioanna, the young Ukrainian who transforms difficulty into art.

Ioanna, a 26-year-old young woman of Ukrainian origin, arrived in Italy with her mother in 2005 and has lived in Foggia since then. Affected by achondroplasia metatropic dwarfism, a rare disease that limits her mobility and forces her into a wheelchair, Ioanna faces daily difficulties that prevent her from achieving autonomy.

Throughout the years, The Immigration Office of the Foggia Police Headquarters has closely followed his story, a path marked by challenges but also by an extraordinary strength of spirit, taking care of his administrative position on the national territory and, above all, of his daily battle. Today Ioanna, who has become a familiar presence, after having collected a long-term residence permit, wanted to greet and thank the Manager and all the staff, leaving a special gift for the office: two paintings made by herself, using the mosaic technique.

This gift It is a symbol of resilience and mutual gratitude, an emblem of its ability to transform challenges into creations full of colour and meaning and of the importance of the relationships built within the Immigration Office, container of stories, lives lived and often of suffering, a human and professional point of reference for those who, like Ioanna, far from their country of origin, face difficult life paths with courage and determination.
