Lecce, after decades of inactivity, a restoration that brought it back to its new splendor and a tiring job of building a stable management project, today it has reopened Masseria Tagliatelle in Via del Ninfeo. A moment that has been awaited for years, the result of the collaboration agreement between Municipality and Foundation With the South, signed in 2020, which led to the publication of a joint tender for the management of the farm, aimed at groups of associations, businesses and institutions led Third sector.

From today the activities of the Masseria will be conducted, in close collaboration with the Municipality and the Foundation, by the partnership group that won the tender, composed of Tdf Mediterranea (leader), Istituto Presta Columella, Seyf, Aforisma, PazLab, Locomotive, Ura Teatro and ImprovvisArt, National Book Festival, Gent.Eco, EARTH srl, I don't give up, Ramdom, AICCON The partners of the project are all entities that operate continuously in the Lecce area.

«Masseria Tagliatelle embodies the sense of urban regeneration: the Stazione Ninfeo project is the outcome and synthesis of a long path of debate and collective participation to which many have contributed, and which has reflected on how to reactivate an ancient place, a municipal asset of the city, innovating it according to new needs – declares the councilor for urban planning and heritage policies Rita Miglietta - In fact, it is not enough to restore a building while safeguarding its historical value, it is necessary to give it life, give it a new meaning and a new role. The project questioned the needs of the neighborhood, its spaces and places, offering us today new and multiple uses that respond to the widespread desire for sharing spaces. I thank all the energies that have invested, believing in it, in this journey together with the Municipal Administration and the Con il Sud Foundation, thus taking up the challenge of cooperation, of doing things together. The ceremony inaugurazione it opened with a band tour starting from the housing complex overlooking the park. The “historical” nucleus of residents of the area, involved in the previous weeks in a journey of memory of the places, traveled together with the mayor Carlo Salvemini, to the councilor for urban planning and heritage policies Rita Miglietta, to the President of the Con il Sud Foundation Stefano Consiglio and the representatives of the municipal administration and associations the road to the farm, where the cutting of the ribbon.

Finally, for the courageous, creative planning that accompanied the processes without the fear of experimenting and thinking "big", despite the predictions and prejudices about the South. The redevelopment of the territories also passes through this determination".

The project Nymphaeum station is divided into various activities intended to generate and nourish a community within the Masseria and the neighborhood. In a quadrant of the city where there are no cinemas, theaters and libraries, Stazione Ninfeo will offer literary, musical, theatrical reviews and cinematographic initiatives. Workshops planned to involve citizens in the use of the Masseria's spaces and initiatives collaboration with schools.

On the first floor of the farm there is a social hostel with sixteen beds, which will offer discounted rates aimed at Third sector, to the volunteers who will dedicate some time in favor of the Masseria and the neighborhood and will guarantee the possibility of creating co-housing experiences aimed at young people and students. Ninfeo station will also be a place of training, study and solidarity: in fact, a popular after-school program and training courses are planned for “neet” boys and support activities for relatives of patients admitted to the hospital "Vito Fazzi”. The Fairy Nymphaeum, a sixteenth-century underground structure composed of two rooms, a circular one with a tub used for ablutions and an entrance room embellished by the presence of nymphs sculpted in high relief, will be made accessible and visitable, thanks to the construction of routes aimed at students and citizens. Among the spaces of the farm there is also a bar area, a coworking room, a small library room.

From the 2 October Masseria tagliatelle will be open at the following times: coworking/study area from 10:00 to 20:00 from Monday to Friday; break area from 18.00pm to midnight from Wednesday to Sunday.

The activities of the Masseria will be aimed at to the city and first and foremost to the neighborhood, destined to acquire new centrality thanks to the activation of new social and cultural spaces, of Cave Park, whose opening to the city is imminent, and, in the medium term, thanks to the completion of the "overturning” of the main entrance of the railway station on Via del Ninfeo which will be completed in the next few years.
