A day full of events and meetings that on November 2nd officially gave the go-ahead to the 19th edition of Golosaria, the famous food and wine festival created by journalists, writers and gastronomes Paolo Massobrio e Marco Gatti, that until November 4, will return to tell the story of Italy through its excellence and its flavours.
An event that is renewed not only with the vast public of enthusiasts and admirers, who will be able to enjoy this year over 17.000 square meters of exhibition space thanks to the change of location in the prestigious spaces of the fair Milano rho, also with the Calabria Region, a major protagonist of the event thanks to the partnership promoted by the Department of Tourism and Territorial Marketing, aimed not only at highlighting its excellent products but also its rich historical, cultural and naturalistic heritage, with the aim of encouraging experiential tourism and the development of the territory.
Among the most anticipated events of the day " Golosaria meets an Extraordinary Calabria” which saw the participation of the regional councillor for Tourism Giovanni Calabrese, interviewed in the Agorà area by the host Paolo Massobrio and culminated with the awarding of five special prizes in the prestigious Golosario Champions category, assigned this year to the companies “Ancient Mediterranean essences (Crotone), Le Terre di Zoè (Gioia Tauro), Lucchetta Soc.Coop. (Cirò Marina), Opificio Calabria (Santa Maria del Cedro) and Salumificio Mandarino (Belsito).
“Once again – the councilor stated Calabrese – an important showcase for our beautiful Calabria, a land of history, food and wine, art and culture. A Calabria with its excellences awarded at the food and wine tourism fair, thanks to the genuine products and prestigious companies, the pride of our territory.
A moment strongly linked to identity that, in addition to celebrating taste, offered important food for thought on the tourism and employment potential of Calabria, placing attention on the strengthening of air connections and the increase in tourism offerings, increasingly linked to the combination of food and wine and territory”.
Together with Councillor Calabrese, an all-female team, which saw the participation of Maria Antonella Cauteruccio e Gina Aquino, General Manager and Sector Manager of the Department of Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Mobility of the Calabria Region, who contributed to strengthening the institutional presence within the important Milanese event.
Many events inspired by the theme of the event "Territories, identity, future" which followed one another in space "Calabria Experience”, inside the 4 large thematic areas Food, Wine, Street Food and Mixo, for an authentic incursion into the flavours and knowledge of the region. The guided tastings will kick off with one dedicated to the world of Calabrian nougats and pralines, “Torrone and surroundings: innovation in tradition"With Paul Caridi, which delighted those present at the Food Area, at the institutional space of the Calabria Region. The peculiarities of the Calabrian wine-making realities were instead discussed in the Wine Tasting Space during the event “Valuable bond with a territory in a note of color. The whites in an inviting agreement for a tour among the vineyards" driven by Fabio Molinari and with the participation of Elvia Gregorace, Gianfranco Manfredi e William Gigliotti.
In the afternoon, the guided tasting by the National Institute of Bread Tasters "The Scent of Bread: A Journey Through the Varieties of Calabrian Breads with Sensory Profiles and Food Pairings with INAP”, accompanied the public through a sensory journey through the varieties of Calabrian breads, while the Spazio Mixo hosted “Calabrian Spirits Volume I”, a taste experience dedicated to the region’s spirits.
His Majesty the chili pepper could not be missed, the protagonist of the tasting moment "Differently spicy. Chili pepper universal element.” led by Giancarlo Suriano in the Institutional Space of the Calabria Region.
The evening continued in the Show Cooking Space with Flavours of Autumn: splashes of sea force 4 with Claudio Villella Restaurant The Old Port of Crotone and with the last guided tasting "Calabria: between sea and mountains in the name of the millenary olive tree. Voice to the real oil!” in the company of Maurice Pescari.
