Emilia-Romagna: 7 million for the redevelopment of theaters and cultural heritage.
Ten interventions of restoration, renovation, qualification and technological innovation of publicly owned theatre spaces. Nine projects of restoration, conservation, consolidation and enhancement of the historical and contemporary architectural heritage for cultural purposes. It is the result of two calls by the Region, aimed at Municipalities and public administrations, which have made available a total of 7 million euros.
Redevelopment of theatre spaces
There are 10 Municipalities that have been awarded the funding made available by the Region – 4 million euros – to support theatre venues with renovation, restoration and technological adaptation interventions, in order to make them more usable, more comfortable, fully accessible, with reduced energy consumption, with up-to-date stage systems that are in step with the times, capable of hosting shows that also require the use of new technologies.
Among the selected projects are 5 theaters that, thanks to the regional contribution, will be able to complete interventions already started and that in this way will be able to reopen to the public and restart the theatrical activity, suspended for some time. These are of the Teatro Sociale of Luzzara (Re), the Teatro Comunale of Crevalcore (Bo), hit by the earthquake of 2012, the Teatro Comunale of Dovadola (Fc), the Teatro Golfarelli in Civitella di Romagna (Fc) and the Convitto Rinaldo Corso “Ex Teatrino” in Correggio (Re).
Added to these are the Teatro Sociale di Gualtieri (Re), which thanks to the installation of the heating/cooling system and some other interventions will be usable and functional even in the winter season; the Teatro Magnani di Fidenza (Pr) which is implementing a complex intervention of functional, technological and plant adaptation and improvement; the Teatro Masini di Faenza (Ra), recently hit by the flood; the Teatro Galli di Rimini, which focuses on technological innovation and energy saving; the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, in which, taking advantage of the temporary closure of the historic site for an important intervention carried out with Pnrr funds, the Municipality intends to implement an intervention to improve the overall usability.
Enhancement of architectural heritage
The funds that the Region invests for the restoration and enhancement of the valuable architectural heritage for cultural purposes amount to a total of 3 million euros. 56 public administrations participated in the tender. At the end of the selection, 9 Municipalities were found to be assigned resources for recovery, safety, enhancement and accessibility interventions. The projects concern the Municipalities of Albinea (Re), Bagnacavallo (Ra), Boretto (Re), Cento (Fe), Codigoro (Fe), Faenza (Ra), Imola (Bo), Marzabotto (Bo) and Riccione (Rn).
In particular, in Albinea the intervention concerns Villa Tarabini, in Bagnacavallo the former Capuchin convent; in Boretto the municipal building; in Cento the Governor's palace; in Codigoro the former Corte Scalambra in the Pomposa area; in Faenza the Municipal Art Gallery; in Imola the Municipal Library; in Marzabotto the Water Tower of the former Burgo Paper Mill in Lama di Reno; in Riccione the new Museum of the Territory in the former Piva Furnace.
