Elon Musk meets Meloni and Tajani: "ready to collaborate"
Elon Musk did an encore. The American magnate, owner of Tesla and SpaceX, was received twice at Palazzo Chigi yesterday in Rome. According to what we learn, the owner of Twitter first met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, then – at a later moment – he was received by the Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni. At the center of the talks were some strategic themes in the field of cutting-edge technology dear to both the government and the entrepreneur of South African origins himself.
In the morning, the institutional meeting was with Deputy Prime Minister Tajani. “We talked about many things, cybersecurity, space, Twitter, freedom of information, industrial policy, electric cars. And I told him that Italy is the best country in Europe to invest in", the head of the Farnesina explained to reporters. In a photograph published by the minister himself, the two appear sitting around a table. Another image captures them while they walk in front of a wall with images of the former prime ministers of Italy.
According to what we understand, a climate of cordiality was immediately established between the government representative and the tycoon. “Ready to collaborate on the challenges of our time such as cybersecurity. I complimented him on his entrepreneurial successes,” he did know Tajani. I
The number one of Tesla, Twitter and SpaceX then met - a few hours later - with the prime minister Melons. The problem of the birth rate and the risks of artificial intelligence were, according to what we learn, some of the topics at the center of the meeting. The question of European market rules is also on the table, the same sources report. Also from what we learn, Musk would have highlighted how Meloni is very focused on Italian interest.
Among his Roman meetings in the capital, there was also a surprise one with the deputy director of ilGiornale and TV host Nicola Porro. The journalist documented his meeting with Musk, which took place on a Roman terrace, with a photo published on social media. “I've met a lot of people but I have to say that Elon Musk is one of those who stands out. Happy to have contributed to your trip to Rome...", Porro wrote, who interviewed the tycoon exclusively. The television interview will be shown next Monday, 19 June, on Quarta Repubblica on Rete4.
And it seems that the millionaire from Silicon Valley, from the capital, has also experienced proverbial traffic. In a video published by Milano Finance, the white Tesla carrying Elon was filmed while it was bottled up between cars and taxis in the very central streets adjacent to Palazzo Chigi.
