Crotone: guided tour of the historic center for children, teenagers and their families bythe Officina Kidsi Association, in collaboration with the youth tourist centre.
It was held Sunday 29 October the Cultural Walk for children, teenagers and their families, organized by the associations Officina Kids and Crotone Youth Tourist Centre, with the collaboration of Don Giovanni Barbara from the parish of Santa Chiara and Don Alessandro Saraco who opened the doors of the church of the Immaculate Conception.
The initiative, a guided tour suitable for children, free for participants and self-financed by the associations, was focused on the theme of remembering the deceased, on the occasion of November 2nd. The participants, starting from Piazza Duomo, arrived at the churches of Santa Chiara and Immacolata, retracing the life of Crotone's ancestors, celebrating their memory.
“We thought about visiting the historic center for children because we believe that i younger they should not be cut off from city cultural events, but involved, encouraged to know their story, in the company of their families to experience quality time, in real life, away from their cell phones.” He tells us Alessia Sisca, president of Officina Kids.
"It's important stimulate children by providing them with new opportunities to learn, we need to make them curious about the world around them, get them used to beauty. Offer them moments of sharing with the family, making them protagonists, listening to their needs. All of this is essential for healthy cognitive and emotional development.” He says Maria Concetta Grossi, psychologist and director of educational activities at Officina Kids.
“The children responded positively to the stories about the history of our city, they showed interest and interacted with enthusiasm, walking for about two hours through the alleys of the old city and the church pews. They didn't even get tired going down the steep steps of the crypt of the church of the Immaculate Conception!” Tells Francesco Liperoti, historian and cultural and environmental animator, president of the Youth Tourist Center of Crotone.
The managers of the two associations announce that the great participation and enthusiasm with which this initiative was welcomed will be the stimulus to continue organizing educational and cultural activities for children, teenagers and their families.
The appointment is for the second cultural walk through the streets of the city.
