The Jazz Season kicks off on Saturday 23 November at 21pm with an absolute premiere “Two roots”, on stage at the Teatro Sociale Omar Sosa & Trilok Gurtu.
India and Cuba meet and explode in Africa, the great mother. This concert is an event that goes beyond the boundaries of what could be misleadingly defined as a world music and ethno-jazz concert. An event that presents itself as a kaleidoscope of cultures and traditions, a universe of languages.

An exceptional pianist, a musical polyglot capable of uniting continents with his art, Omar Sosa it is an allegory of universal artistic exchange. Of Cuban origins, after studying percussion he approached the piano, which had always fascinated him for its orchestral character. Omar's practice of the piano, which he plays as a self-taught musician, will always be influenced by that of percussion: it is his personal style, of great rhythmic audacity, which has now become his distinguishing feature.
Raised in the most traditional Cuban culture, He soon discovers jazz, which fascinates him, pop, funk and approaches the foreign sounds that migrant musicians bring to the island. Sosa creates a global but exhaustive jazz language, stylistically unique, celebrating the diversity of souls of the music of the Americas and beyond, always cultivating an intimate connection with his Afro-Cuban roots.
