Chieti: the Diorama Festival is coming, music, art, entertainment and sustainability. 

The first outing will be in Chieti of the 2024 edition of the Diorama Festival, an itinerant journey to (re)discover the most evocative places in Abruzzo which combines music, art, territory and which will arrive in the city onnext June 8th, in the area in front of Villa Frigerj.

The event, organized by Diorama APS in collaboration with the Municipality of Chieti and the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape Chieti – Pescara, enjoys the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and the Abruzzo Region. The program, themes and guests of the event were illustrated this morning by Paolo Cicalini, artistic director of Diorama Aps which organizes the event, by the mayor Diego Ferrara, the deputy mayor Paolo De Cesare, the councilors Chiara Zappalorto and Stefano Rispoli, the city councilor Paride Paci, as well as the official of the Superintendence Emanuela Criber, the director of La Civitella Michele Iannicca and Gioia Di Girolamo, director of the visual arts section of the Festival, Nicola Della Corina responsible for Formula ambiente, part of the initiatives.

“I am sure that this event will bring a positive charge of energy and innovation to our city – underlines the mayor Diego Ferrara – . Happy that it will take place in front of one of the archaeological museums of the city and the territory and that it will combine, thanks to the work done together, many themes that concern the community. Thanks to the organizers for having chosen us, to all the institutions and organizations that have acted as a driving force with us and for us, to make it happen and to the councilors for the Environment, Public Works, Culture, as well as to the councilor Paride Paci who have made way for a proposal that will bring a lot of attention and initiatives to Chieti for June 8th”.

“Chieti will be the first stage of the Festival's territorial promotion – illustrates Paolo Ccalini, artistic director of the Diorama – . The Festival has been active since 2021 and was created to draw attention to evocative and identifying places, through contemporary elements. The chosen location is the central element of the Festival, it is a source of pride for us to start from Chieti, a stage that we strongly wanted and that is achieved thanks to a successful collaboration with the Municipality and with the support of other subjects active in the territory, from the Superintendence and the Museum Management, as well as Formula Ambiente with which we studied the initial part of the Festival and the other subjects that became the driving force of the event. One of the objectives of Diorama is to be able to act as a collector between local bodies and associations, working together to enhance the city. There are many things on the program, environmental awareness, there is research music with the singer-songwriter Perlaluna and a selection of artists from Chieti who will accompany him. For the visual arts, there will be special content with the artist from Chieti Alex D'Aquila and then initiatives dedicated to sustainability and environmental protection”.

"LUMEN it is the visual art of Diorama – adds Gioia Di Girolamo – In each stage of the festival a digital installation, thanks to the partnership with Mydw agency we host an artist who this year will be from Chieti, Alex D'Aquila, who will develop a project based on research and linked to literature, built with phrases chosen ad hoc and developed for the territory, to enhance the place and put in place a work that marries and enhances the city”.

“This is a Festival with a highly innovative content – thus the deputy mayor and councilor for culture Paolo De Cesare – . This is the reason why we opened the doors, so that Chieti can be filled with a young audience ready to make culture a discovery, like that which follows Diorama. Thanks to all the actors of this initiative that we are sure will also have an impact on the economy of the territory”.

“A Festival to promote beauty and sustainability – underlines the Councilor for the Environment and ecological transition Chiara Zappalorto – . I want to thank the councilor Paride Paci who acted as the driving force. We wanted Diorama because it is a vector of quality, with the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and we wanted to go further, involving Formula Ambiente on the theme of sustainability and the true protagonists of the future who are children. With them we have built an awareness path focused on the precious use of water: the children will open the Festival on this theme and will deliver to the city some thoughts that will become an installation, a wall with many symbolic droplets of water, inside which the children's advice on not wasting it will be written. Thanks to Paola Cavallo who with Formula helped us involve the schools, who worked with us for the success of this unprecedented part of the Festival".
