Cesenatico: Inauguration of the “Pink Room” to support women and vulnerable subjects
Monday 25 November 2024, at 10:30 am, at the Cesenatico Carabinieri Company Barracks (FC), in conjunction with the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women” the inauguration of the “Pink Room” will take place, created thanks to the strong support of the local municipal administration, which will be used for the hearing – in a dedicated and protected environment – of women and vulnerable individuals who report acts of persecution, mistreatment, stalking and any other violent act (falling under the so-called “Gender-based violence”).
The Carabinieri – which has long been participating in information activities with the communication and awareness campaign “DON'T REMAIN SILENT” and that on the institutional website www.carabinieri.it, has dedicated an entire thematic area to the “CODE RED” where you can find lots of useful information on: stalking, bullying, cyberbullying, mistreatment, revenge porn, sexual violence, as part of the activity to combat this painful social plague, has equipped itself over the years with many tools, the first of which is the Stalking Section of the Carabinieri Scientific Investigations Group.
This Section carries out study and analysis activities of the phenomenon, namely personnel training programs, with basic and specialized courses for the benefit of the officers of the force serving in the investigative departments as well as all the Company, Lieutenancy and Station Commanders. In addition, since 2014, there has been the "National Monitoring Network on the Phenomenon of Gender Violence" structured on judicial police officers - Marshals and Brigadiers - included in the territorial investigative branches (Provincial Command Investigative Units and Company Command Operational Units) and trained at the Higher Institute of Investigative Techniques, with specific courses.
In the context of the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Forlì (in which there is another room with similar characteristics, called “A room of one’s own”, inaugurated in June 2021 at the Carabinieri Company of Meldola) There are seven figures specialized in the sector - two marshals from the Investigative Unit of the capital and another five, marshals and brigadiers, in the Carabinieri Companies of the province - trained to support victims in their reporting process as well as support all the departments in the area in the development of investigations following the receipt of complaints on episodes of so-called "gender violence" which, in the year 2024 (from 1 January to 15 November), resulted in the following for the Carabinieri of the Province of Forlì – Cesena: 495 monitored conducts (following initiative interventions, activation of the 112 emergency service or receipt of reports) and 441 crimes prosecuted (with 15 people arrested in the act and 407 people reported at liberty – in addition, 92 precautionary measures were carried out, of which 18 for suspects subjected to pre-trial detention in prison or house arrest).
