Catanzaro: “A Saturday without Monday”. The short film produced and distributed by the Carabinieri at the 2nd edition of the Tropea Film Festival.

The short film will be available from Tuesday 3 September “A Saturday without Monday”, conceived, produced and distributed by the Catanzaro Carabinieri, already viewable on the Carabinieri Youtube channel, as well as being promoted during the press conference of the Tropea Film Festival during of the 81st Venice International Film Festival, will be presented and screened in Tropea during the aforementioned film festival which, in fact, will take place in the enchanting setting of the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, from 8 to 14 September.

More precisely, the public will be able to see the short film on the afternoon of Thursday 12th and the evening of Friday 13th September and will be able to attend a debate on the topic of road safety and the meaning of the film with the Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri of Vibo Valentia, Colonel Luca Toti, with the Selected Constable QS Filiberto D'Imperio, in service at the Communication and Press Unit of the Carabinieri of Catanzaro, creator of the short film, and with the author of the soundtrack “Raggamatty”, real name Mattia Russo, a very young singer-songwriter from Catanzaro.

The short film “A Saturday without Monday”: a short film with a high emotional impact that aims to send a strong message and make young people reflect on the consequences of their behavior, sometimes wrong, when they are driving vehicles. The film, inspired by the movie “Sliding Doors”, represents a cross-section of the nightlife and youth reality, when a wrong choice can affect life forever and, in the worst case, cause it to be lost and determine the death of innocent third parties.

The message of the video: A wrong choice instead of the right one can make life take a completely different turn in an instant from what was expected and desired, suddenly finding oneself in a dark parallel dimension from which, even if one wanted, one could no longer go back to change the wrong choice with the right one.

The short film, written, directed, recorded and edited by the Carabinieri of the Communication and Press Unit of the Provincial Command of Catanzaro, featured real Carabinieri on duty, young students and a mother as actors, who managed to express first the spontaneity and then the desperation of their characters.

A system of sliding doors that, activated by a different choice, open onto different destinies characterized alternately by serenity or despair. A strong message that aims to induce a useful reflection to guide conscious behaviors in defense of the value of life. An even higher and more precious good when it refers to those who, young, have the possibility of a happy future ahead of them.

Today, the lyrics of the soundtrack are released for the first time and an excerpt of it (in the next few days, the entire song will also be available on the dedicated web channels of the music sector), a hybrid of “indie” and “reggae”, is an unreleased song written and created “ad hoc” for the occasion by a young singer-songwriter from Catanzaro, Mattia Russo, aka “Raggamatty”, who also played the character who drags others towards the wrong choice.
