Carbonia: “Carbonia Film Festival”, from Wednesday 13th to 17th November
The was presented new edition of the “Carbonia Film Festival”, scheduled from Wednesday 13th to Sunday 17th November, organized by the Carbonia Cultural Services Center of the Società Umanitaria – La Fabbrica del Cinema and CSC Cagliari of the Società Umanitaria – Cineteca Sarda, together with the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and the Municipality of Carbonia, with the support of the Fondazione Sardegna Film Commission, in collaboration with the SBIS. The press conference was attended by the Mayor Peter Moritthere is the Councilor for Culture Georgia Meli.
“This is a wonderful initiative, a well-tested and well-rounded format, which includes, in addition to movies and film a series of side events such as photographic exhibitions, masterclasses, musical initiatives and sound aperitifs that will animate our city and involve the young people of Carbonia and the territory from 13 to 17 November. The initiative organized by the Società Umanitaria, which we thank for the great commitment that it daily devotes to high-level cultural initiatives, represents an important event that will see the city of Carbonia, for 5 days, be a cinematographic hub of national and international importance“, declared the Mayor Pietro Morittu.
Also for 2024 “Carbonia Film Festival”, under the artistic direction of Francesco Yes, Via, will host some of the most significant representatives of Italian and international cinema, who will talk about their works, offering interesting reflections on some of the crucial issues of our time.
They will be in Carbonia Milad Tangshir, director of ANYWHERE ANYTIME, in conversation with Daniele Gaglianone as co-writer of the film. Gaglianone will also be the protagonist of the second important moment of the festival, on the occasion of the preview of SEMBRAVA NON FINIRE MAI, in the presence of two of the directors, Erica De Lisio and Chiara Stravato, created in collaboration with Modena Via Emilia Doc Fest.
And then the director again Mohamed Jabali, author and protagonist of the touching LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL; Rosa Palasciano, extraordinary interpreter of TAXI MONAMOUR; Francesco Costabile, author of FAMILIA, one of the most loved titles at the last Film Festival; Silvia Luzi and Luca Bellino, who will tell their second fiction direction with LUCE; the director Isabella Mari, in dialogue with the producer Claudia Canfora, and also the guest directors of the Spazio Sardegna Stefano Cau, Mario D'Acunto and Gabriele Pappalardo.
Among the other unmissable events of the Festival, the gentle songwriting of Dente with the show IPERBOLICA – Reading and songs between the stars and the sea, the meeting with Deka Mohamed Osman and Munir Derbal, winners of the second edition of the photography competition SGUARDI PLURALI SULL'ITALIA PLURALE, and the presentation of the graphic novel NATO IN IRAN, in the presence of the author Majid Bita, a touching autobiographical story set in Tehran in which the protagonist's family life becomes a collective story.
“Carbonia Film Festival” has always promoted meetings and exchanges between guests and the city, through convivial movements, music and entertainment. The usual involvement of schools will not be missed: the guest directors of the CFF will meet every morning the students of three high schools: Angioy, Gramsci Amaldi and Beccaria-Loi.
