'Rosa Camuna 2020', 22 prizes awarded via streaming at Palazzo Pirelli

Milano, Nov. 17 2020 – The 2020 Rosa Camuna award was awarded during a streaming ceremony. Awards are also expected on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Region.

“The pandemic represented a setback in the growth that, until February, our Region was carrying out. Lombardy is the largest region in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. She is the only one who can deal with the whole world. This pandemic has slowed down this way of being, but it certainly hasn't stopped it. Today we are awarding an important recognition to particularly deserving people and associations.

This is what the president of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana underlined in his speech at the annual ceremony of
Rosa Camuna Award, the highest honor recognized by the Region, presented by the journalist Simona Arrigoni.

22 prizes were awarded during the ceremony. These Lombard citizens, as underlined by the President of the Regional Council Alessandro Fermi, "stood out for their courage, commitment, industriousness and generosity and who contributed to the
economic, social, cultural and sporting development of Lombardy".

The awards ceremony for the 2020 edition of the 'Rosa Camuna', awarded every year to deserving Lombards, took place in the Council Chamber of Palazzo Pirelli.

Rosa Camuna Award

The 'Rosa Camuna' Award, established by the Regional Council, is awarded not only to natural persons, but also to companies, bodies, associations and foundations representing the various territories. It is the highest honor awarded to personalities who have distinguished themselves in contributing to the economic, social, cultural and sporting development of Lombardy. The 2020 edition of the award is divided into four sections. In order they are: Special prize on the 50th anniversary of the Lombardy Region; Rosa Camuna 2020; Mentions. Finally, last but not least, the President's Special Award.

Atalanta Bergamasca Football

Piero Bassetti

Founder and soul of the Sport Academy for Solidarity in Bergamo. It promoted and coordinated the solidarity action of many citizens and entrepreneurs in the Bergamo area in favor of needy and fragile people and, in particular, during the period of the Covid-19 health emergency it collected, through its solidarity network, over million euros in favor of Bergamo hospitals.
