Campobasso, Alessandro Albenga's concert closes the "2021 Organ Review"

To close the triptych of organ concerts this month of September, there will be Alessandro Albenga, who will offer the public a musical program with music by Grayston Ives, Bach, Mendelssohn, Liszt.

Alessandro Albenga He has played with important vocal and instrumental groups, including the Il Teatro Armonico ensemble, the Italian Baroque Orchestra, the RAI Symphony Orchestra of Rome, the Symphony Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia, the 'Academia Montis Regalis, the Orchestra of the Diocese of Rome, the Musicanova choir, the Festina Lente group and the Seicentonovecento Ensemble. Active as an organ soloist in Italy and abroad, from 1987 to 2002 he was organist of the Archbasilica of S. Giovanni in Laterano: on the oldest of the historic organs of the Cathedral of Rome he recorded a CD of sixteenth-seventeenth century music of the Roman which received flattering acclaim from the public and critics.

Already a member of the ministerial commission for the protection of ancient organs in Lazio, Albenga provides consultancy in the restoration of historic organs and in the design of new instruments. He was a teacher of Organ and Organ Composition at the Licinio Refice Conservatory of Frosinone and, previously, at the Music Conservatories of Florence, Adria, Campobasso and Benevento.

In these institutes he also taught Tunings and Temperaments and History and Technology of the Instrument. He has held concerts and masterclasses on behalf of the Institute of the Italian Historic Organ, the International Organ Academy of Smarano (Trento) and at the Lemmensinstituut of Leuven (Belgium). Albenga is currently organist of the Cappella Musicale di S. Maria dell'Anima, the reference church in Rome for German-speaking Catholics for five centuries.

The artistic direction of the "2021 Organ Review" is by Antonella De Angelis, while the artistic co-direction is by Maestro Antonio Colasurdo. To participate in the concerts it is mandatory to have a Green Pass.
