The volume will be presented on Saturday 16 December “Campobasso in Comune – Conversations for the city”, edited by Gabriella Di Rocco, on the initiative of the Italian Society for the Protection of Cultural Heritage (SIPBC Onlus). An initiative strongly supported by the Molise section of the SIPBC Onlus, chaired by Isabella Astorri, which aims to represent a real homage to the city of Campobasso: the publication collects the contributions made by scholars and researchers as part of the project that gives the work its title, “Campobasso in the Municipality” precisely, a cycle of meetings and conversations promoted by the Municipal Administration of Campobasso, focused on the cultural and intellectual heritage of the city which, for approximately two years, between 2022 and 2023, periodically animated the historic and prestigious environments of the Circolo Sannitico .
“Campobasso in Comune was an initiative strongly supported by the Municipal Administration – explains the mayor Paola Felice – and it was a winning bet: from a relatively simple idea, such as that of conversing on different topics with expert people invited from time to time to report on the topic, many stories, points of view and experiences emerged which undoubtedly increased another is the intangible heritage of knowledge relating to our city. And to indelibly record the result of these meetings in a book is truly a welcome and precious tribute to the city of Campobasso".
Many contributions followed during the initiative, coming from historians, archaeologists, artists, art experts, professionals, who made themselves available to talk about the capital city in various forms: the history, in particular the less known or completely unknown to most people, the art, the characters who raised its name, the artistic, musical and cultural heritage, the urban planning.
“Campobasso in Comune was the opportunity to discover or rediscover the many facets of our city – concludes the mayor Felice – a way to highlight the peculiarities of Campobasso, worthy of attention and proper valorisation; the publication edited by SIPBC Onlus represents a further, valuable piece of this journey, in the certainty that, taking up the words reported in the introduction of the volume, knowledge of the cultural heritage can stimulate and revive that feeling of being together that someone has so wisely defined 'exercise of responsible citizenship'”.
The presentation of the book will be held at the Constitution Hall - Provincial Palace of Campobasso, in via Milano, starting from 17.30 pm; the program includes greetings from the mayor of Campobasso, Paola Felice, and the introduction of Professor Isabella Astorri, regional president of SIPBC Onlus. The presentation of the initiative is entrusted to Gabriella Di Rocco, editor of the volume.
