Campobasso, the "Herb Festival" at Villa De Capoa.

Friday 15st and Saturday 16nd July Villa De Capoa will be the headquarters of the “Herbal Festival”, organized by the local tourist promotion association “TuoMolise” and the Municipality of Campobasso.

The “Herbal Festival” is aimed at promoting and disseminating ancient knowledge relating to all herbs, both medicinal and edible, their recognition, therapeutic and nutritional properties, to different uses and more generally to propose new lifestyles based on sustainability and respect for the environment, together with the desire to provide the tools and the opportunity to find direct contact with nature.

«The municipality of Campobasso financed the event, thus adhering in a significant and concrete way to the project proposal of the “Tuo Molise” Association, which is perfectly in line with the policies and directions of the Administration in general and of the Environment Department in particular, - explained the Councilor for the Environment, Simone Cretella - taking into account that the event intends to promote the environment through the valorisation of its natural resources, for the benefit of collective well-being".

The two days of 15 and 16 July at Villa De Capoa include various interventions and workshops held by experts in the field to create opportunities for the acquisition of precious ancient knowledge and ideas for environmental education, as well as cultural meetings with some artists, musicians and poets who they have shown sensitivity towards Nature, the territory and traditions. There will be six areas of Villa De Capoa in which the various events of the festival will take place in a continuous cycle.

The “Herbal Festival” will be officially opened in Villa De Capoa, Friday 15 July, at 17.00 pm. After the greetings of the authorities, already at 17.30 pm the first meeting dedicated to "Italy, the garden of Europe: medicinal plants, health and rural economy", with Dr. Giovanni Canora. At 18.00 pm, it will be the turn of Antonio D'Andrea who will talk about the role and experiences of the Casa delle Erbe in our territory and in the entire peninsula.

At 18.15pm, however, there will be a meeting with Don Francis Tiso, on the theme: "The veriditas of Saint Hildegard and the spirituality of Nature".

At 18.30 pm, workshop for children and teenagers, creative experiments with nature, held by Daniela Pietrangelo, while, again from 18.30 pm until 19.30 pm, Ivonne Vergara Garcia will hold the workshop on "The yoga of herbs, a series of reconnection pranayama asanas with natural cycles".

At 19.00 pm, the presentation of the book of poems by Carmine Valentino Mosesso "The Third Geography", published by NeoEdizioni, is scheduled. Furthermore, there will be no shortage of musical moments: at 18.30 pm spring music, interlude in verse accompanied by bouzouki and psalmoé, with Francesco Taddei-Mosca; at 21.30pm, literary concert “Voci del bosco”, with Laura Vinciguerra, harp and voice.

Saturday 16 July we start in the morning, at 10.00, with the Eco-Print laboratory, printing with dyeing herbs, by Bidens Ridens, Nicolle Fazzini and Giorgio Borghi.

At 10.30, workshop this time for children and teenagers, "The wonderful world of bees", held by Antonietta Pace.

At 10.45 Don Francisco Tiso will talk about plant extracts: essential oils and hydroalcoholic solutions, properties and use.

At 12.00, Antonio Ceglie will discuss "Trees and man: the origin of plants, their development and evolution, or plants as the founding base of the food pyramid of living beings".

At 10.00, there will also be another workshop for children, held by Antonio D'Andrea and dedicated to the artisanal preparation of 7-herb pasta. The afternoon of Saturday 16 July will be dedicated, in addition to other workshops in various areas of the Villa, to the meeting at 17.30 pm with Doctor Giovanni Canora, who will talk about "green medicine: psycho-physical and emotional balance" and to the one at 18.30 pm , which will continue until 20.00 pm, with Ivonne Vergara Garcia on the theme "Plants: nourishment of the Earth, support for life", with moments dedicated to the recognition of the spontaneous herbs of Villa De Capoa and others collected in our mountains and final tasting .

To close the intense two days of the program “Festival delle Erbe”, Saturday 16 July, at 20.30 pm, again in Villa De Capoa, there will be a grand final concert starring Piero Ricci and the Piccola Orchestra Ecletnica.
