Caltanissetta: “Redentore in Fest” from 4 to 6 August between music, cabaret and religiosity.
On the occasion of the liturgical feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus, the Municipality of Caltanissetta in collaboration with Pro Loco Caltanissetta, in the square in front of the Sanctuary of Jesus the Redeemer on Mount San Giuliano (Piazza Basile), has organized two evenings of music and conviviality for August 5 and 6.
A celebration that wants to renew and recall an ancient tradition that must not be lost. And it is precisely with the intent of valorizing the identity of Nissa and a custom that has now consolidated over time that the events councilor Salvatore Petrantoni organized the “Redentore in Fest”.
Two days in which, in addition to the Eucharistic celebrations and religious functions, scheduled from 4 to 6 August, you will be able to attend a music show and a cabaret show. Free events and open to all those who wish to participate.
To facilitate transit operations and reach Piazza Basile which is located in front of the Santuario del Redentore, the Municipality of Caltanissetta in collaboration with Scat has planned a free shuttle that will leave in front of the gate of the Oasi Cristo Re Institute in order to go up to the top of the mountain.
The bus will be active on 5 and 6 August from 18.30 pm and will continue its runs until the end of the scheduled shows.
An area has been planned in which it will be possible to purchase and consume food and drinks.
“Two days of shows await us at the foot of one of our identifying places and most loved by the Nisseni – concluded councilor Petrantoni -. The availability of the free shuttle will allow anyone to reach the event location without any inconvenience. An opportunity that we invite you to seize."
The program includes:
Sunday August 4
At 19.00 pm the recitation of the Rosary followed by the Holy Mass at 19.30 pm
Monday August 5
At 18.30 pm via Crucis which will start from the gate of the Oasis of Christ the King and go up to the Sanctuary of the SS Redeemer. The Eucharistic celebration will follow at 19.30 pm.
At 21.00:091 pm the concert of XNUMXBLUEs that will give space to Blues, Rock 'n' Roll and Swing. The band will propose a repertoire of unreleased songs characterized by Sicilian and Italian lyrics that blend with covers arranged with a personal musical style. Despite having a sound with a strong imprint of American origin, the band intends to demonstrate that the Blues, as a universal expression and communication, can represent "everything that is" and, therefore, can also be married with the Sicilian dialect. An irony on the vices and virtues of the Sicilians, through which anecdotes, nursery rhymes and typical traditions will be told, creating an explosive mix capable of uniting two worlds so far away: America and Sicily.
At the end of the performance, the DJ set by the duo Holly & Benji will follow
Tuesday August 6
At 06.00 – 07.00 – 08.00 Eucharistic celebrations
At 19.00 pm Recitation of the Rosary and, to follow, at 19.30 pm Eucharistic celebration.
At 21.00:4 pm the cabaret of “I 2 GUSTI”, a Sicilian group composed of Danilo Lo Cicero, Giuseppe Stancampiano, Domenico Fazio and Totò Ferraro. It promises to be an evening full of rhythm, branded “Made in Sud” (RaiXNUMX) and Sicilia Cabaret (Antenna Sicilia). The artists will bring on stage the most famous characters of their repertoire such as the much-loved “Curtigghiare” and the colorful “Hippies”, enriched by engaging and lively musical interventions.
Ernesto Trapanese will present the evening.
