Caltanissetta, Cards and other things 3: Salvatore Pizzo's exhibition at Moncada until November 23.

It will be open to the public until November 23, 2024, at Palazzo Moncada in Caltanissetta, the exhibition of the Serradifalchese master Salvatore Pizzo. A stage setting of great effect that is worth being appreciated and discovered with your own eyes.

The exhibition, presented at the inauguration by the teacher Maria Carmela Miceli, was created with the patronage of the Municipality of Caltanissetta, Pro Loco Caltanissetta, Sicilbanca and the Serra di Falco association. Gazes, violence against women, the decadence of contemporary society and the difficulty of communicating are the main themes that have been addressed in the artistic works present in the halls of the seventeenth-century palace.

Caltanissetta, carte e quant'altro 3: la mostra di Salvatore Pizzo al Moncada fino al 23 novembre

What appears to the spectator who enters the set up rooms is a symbolic universe that has emerged from the hands of this multifaceted artist who has made experimentation his artistic signature. What emerges from the production that spans almost twenty years is an interesting combination of materials and contents, collages and installations, sculptures and modeling of thoughts and tangible objects.

A production that only if analyzed in its complexity awakens the soul making it boil showing how transparencies and colors tell a profound story, sometimes broken just like the double writing that Salvatore Pizzo has made the protagonist in almost all of his works.

The installations are a denunciation of social and individual malaise, of an often missing dialogue, of a human nature afflicted by existential problems told as if they belonged to parallel universes.

Faces emerging from the grey torpor, dashed shadows outlining a bay full of sailing boats, colored segments that overlap one next to the other showing what Aldo Gerbino defined as “the dreamlike urgency built in the memory and in the pale flow of signs”. The path traced by the artist, However, it should not be perceived as a track to follow without being able to derail but, rather, an open field that leaves free interpretation to each spectator.

And it is precisely to leave art the possibility of conveying countless stories and emotions that each work has remained completely without a title or description. The observer is left with the honorable task of creating a personal meaning from it.

The exhibition can be visited at Palazzo Moncada, Largo Barile, Caltanissetta until November 23, 2024, from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 16 to 20.00. For further information on the artist, you can visit his website www.pizzosalvatore.it
