Cagliari: Mem, the international festival “The wonders of the possible 2024”

Cagliari confirms itself once again as a crossroads of culture, innovation, creativity and people. The press conference at the Mem – Mediterranean Media Library presentation of the 11th edition of “The Wonders of the Possible”, international festival dedicated to theatre, art and new technologies. Also made with the contribution of the Municipality of Cagliari - Department of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism and organized by Kyber Teatro, the event will take place from October 25th to November 23rd at Spazio Domosc in via Newton 12 in Cagliari.

The meeting with journalists was enriched by the intervention of the councilor Maria Francesca Chiappe, who underlined the importance of the initiative for the city, which blends together art, technology and theatrical experimentation. “Le meraviglie del possibile is a festival that brings together many important things,” he remarked, citing it as an example of how culture can evolve and dialogue with the younger generations and the future, keeping alive the bond with the roots and the territory. “A unique event in Sardinia, which addresses current and fundamental issues such as the female world, the environment, climate and war, also through cultural exchanges such as the one with the Lebanese theater”. In short, an “immersive” experience with different realities.

The festival program was illustrated by the artistic director, Ilaria Nina Zedda, which presented a rich program of events.

So let's go Friday October 25 when at Domosc Space – production center of Kyber Teatro – the VAR Cultural company from Bucharest arrives from Romania, which at 21 pm will bring to the stage CELLULAR, a theater and new technologies show, winner of the international Open call LMDP 2024. Direction, video & sound design, space concept by Andu Dumitrescu, Project concept, script structure by Vero Nica, on stage Simona Pop, Alex Mirea and the robot MAO. The show will be repeated on Saturday 26th at 11.30, again at Spazio Domosc, for the students of the “Foiso Fois” art and music high school in Cagliari.

Tuesday October 29 Medeber Teatro, a Belgian company from Brussels, returns, offering at 19pm the digital creative participatory performance Les voix errantes / Pirri edition.

The Belgians of Medeber Teatro will also be on stage Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd November, at 21pm always at Spazio Domosc, with the multimedia performance #Gaza edition. Voices of the living city.

Lingua ignota is instead the title of the theatre, dance, music and new technologies show by and with the dancer and actress from the Marche Simona Lisi (produced by the Ventottozerosei association), which will land at Domosc Thursday 7 November, at 11.30, Friday 8 and Saturday 9 at 21. The direction, the scenic writing and the interpretation are by Simona Lisi, the sound dramaturgy by Paolo Bragaglia on texts and visions freely taken from the writings of Hildegard Von Bingen (live visuals and lights by Pietro Cardarelli, costumes by Stefania Cempini).

Thursday 21 and Friday 22 November it will be the moment of the laboratory Corpo e narrazioni digitali, a theatre and new technologies workshop conducted by the Italian company Company blu and the Canadian company Instant places, in collaboration with Carovana SMI Festival festa mobile – autunno and Festival LMDP (5 hours in the evening at Spazio Domosc).

An international debut will close the 11th edition of the Le Meraviglie del Possibile festival: Saturday November 23 the theatre dance and new technologies show H2O will see the light, at 21pm at Spazio Domosc. Energy modulates the shape of matter and modifies the structure of the molecules themselves. Every chemical substance changes depending on the energy it receives. Among all of them, water is a very special element.

Water is the essential component of life: two atoms of hydrogen and one of oxygen, it is the biological basis of our planet. In perpetual movement, water is a forging element of nature and part of the same environments in which our existence is born and takes place. Liquid and transparent, solid and luminous, dynamic between earth and sky, it flows, digging deep into the hardest structures that cover the planet.

With this project of music, multimedia and dance, we artistically explore the simplest and at the same time least evident dynamics of the substance that envelops everything and everyone, in a continuous and fragile dialogue between life and energy.
