Brindisi, the “G 7: Seven Centuries of Italian Art” Exhibition extended until January 7, 2025
The unprecedented success of the exhibition at the Mesagne Castle in Brindisi pushes to extend the opening until January 2025, with 51 works from Leonardo to Burri.
The big event, organized as part of the Puglia Walking Art Memorandum of Understanding – from Micexperience Rete d'Imprese, with the promoting bodies of the Municipality of Mesagne and the Puglia Region, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, thanks to the collaboration between national museums and art galleries, collections of institutions and private collections, offers a journey through 51 original works including sculptures and paintings, capable of describing the artistic paths between the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, between Leonardo and Antonio Canova, Raphael and Guido Reni, Giuseppe De Nittis and Pino Pascali and Alberto Burri, with a view to the contemporaneity of the Third Millennium.
«“Seven centuries of Italian art”: the exhibition of a series of extraordinary works of art in Mesagne has had an unprecedented success, superior to the exhibitions that in previous years had also enriched our cultural offering - Said the mayor of the Messapian city, Toni Matarrelli -. And I am referring both to the numbers of visitors and their varied origins, tourists, enthusiasts and specialists who have come from all over Italy and the world; as well as to the resonance of this initiative, thanks to which our city has gained a few more steps in addition to its reputation as a crossroads of culture". "It was therefore an almost natural decision - the mayor of Mesagne observed - to extend it until after the Christmas holidays, so that this season's visitors could also enjoy it and tell the story of the new proud face of a small, great city in Southern Italy».
Pierangelo Argentieri, creator of Puglia Walking Art and president of Micexperience, Business Network, observed: «They had invited us to further raise the bar of the cultural proposal and we are proud to have done so in this way, producing an exhibition that cannot be fully re-proposed anywhere else. It - He continued - should be considered as a considerable stage of a journey that began several years ago and pursued with determination, especially with a view to creating a network of active subjects, whose development can only benefit a territory that deserves leaps in quality in the cultural offering, globally understood. The Apulian public, the schools of the Region have appreciated the quality of our proposal and are already inviting us to think of new ones. We do not stop and soon we will have news, I hope you like it».
The opening hours of the exhibition remain confirmed for this weekend too: it will be open to the public from 9am to 13pm and from 16pm to 20pm (info 3270112818 or segreteria@pugliawalkingart.com) and A small gadget is reserved for visitors.
