Brescia, The Brescia Musei Foundation confirms the Summer Camp 2020 initiative
Brescia, The Summer Camps of the Brescia Musei Foundation are once again confirmed as a very welcome initiative for Brescia families this year as can be seen from the constantly growing numbers: since 15 June, the Foundation has welcomed 68 groups for a total of 480 children divided into homogeneous groups by age, in the cloisters and garden of the Santa Giulia Museum, in the Visconti pit of the Brescia Castle adapted for the occasion as educational workshops. Thanks to the precious contribution of the ASM Foundation, again this year Brescia Museums Foundation through the project against educational poverty Everyone at the Museum! welcomed 50 children from families belonging to the Bimbo Call Bimbo Association.
Registrations for the 2020 Summer Camps are still open: from 10 to 14 August places are available for Summer Stories at the Santa Giulia Museum and Ma che bel Castello! From 17 to 21 August it is possible to register for Inspired by Nature in the Museum and in the Castle: between art and nature in the evocative setting of the Castle.
The proposals are aimed at children and teenagers aged 6 to 12.
Participating in the Summer camps of the Civic Museums means setting off on a fascinating journey where you can experiment with the rules and techniques of art in the laboratories, enjoy fun walks through the rooms, cloisters and gardens of the museum, and the imposing structures of the Castle.
The operators present guarantee due distance between children and the correct use of surgical masks, especially in indoor spaces. Spaces and materials will be disinfected daily and disinfectant liquids will be available.
WEEK FROM 10 TO 14 AUGUST
Santa Giulia Museum - Summer Tales talks about holidays, fresh delicacies, postcards, suitcases, carefreeness! The most pleasant moments of the season will be investigated through various activities: a book in which to describe the places visited with photographic images, drawings and notes. Another day will be dedicated to the creation, with clay, of foods known and appreciated during holidays or which will be discovered together on a virtual journey through the cuisines of the world. The work of the artist Anna Boghiguian will serve as inspiration for the reworking of photographs and the preparation of postcards illustrating the heritage of our Museums for ideal visitors.
Brescia Castle – What a beautiful Castle! It develops with walks in the open air to discover the secrets of the fortress, to then create their own version, exploring the precious metals and the splendid decorations that enriched the armor and weapons of the ancient knights, the participants will try their hand at trying to invent their own new; mimicry techniques will be learned from animals; stories of the little inhabitants of the forest will be told and fantastic houses will be built and placed for them. Finally, taking inspiration from the work of some contemporary artists (Boetti, Abramovich, Johns), a personal flag will be created to ideally fly on the Mirabella tower.
WEEK FROM 17 TO 21 AUGUST
Santa Giulia Museum – Inspired by nature is dedicated to interventions on the landscape carried out with many different materials and artistic techniques. Inspired by the works of famous artists (Schlesinger, Pistoletto, Mauri, Spoerri) who offer they conceive their creations in harmony with the natural context, choosing natural materials with the aim of creating a poetic dialogue between man and the environment. Garden jewels will be created to build an installation among the trees of the Viridarium, the lawn will be invaded by large colored pumpkins inspired by the sensational works of Yayoi Kusama and small animals will be created in clay to populate the garden and houses to house the birds of ride.
Brescia Castle – In the Castle: between art and nature. You will identify with an insect and through a micro-journey among very tall stems of grass and gigantic flowers, you will learn about ancient armor and then invent a futuristic one inspired by the works of ancient and contemporary artists (from Michelangelo to Fontana). Beautiful animals will be built, free to roam around the Castle, inspired by the memory of the zoo it once hosted. Finally, artistic compositions will be created with natural elements.

Registrations for the week from 10 to 14 August close on Friday 7 August while for the week from 17 to 21 August it is possible to register until Friday 14 August.
Single opening hours every week: from 8.30am to 16.00pm, with staggered entry and exit times. The day includes breaks for a morning snack and a packed lunch which participants must provide themselves.
