Brescia, 1000 Guitars in the Square - XI edition. The event will take place on 13 and 14 April 2024.
For its eleventh edition, the 1000 Guitars returns to Piazza della Loggia and with an exceptional guest star, the guitarist Andrea Braido, a musician who has graced the stage with the greats of Italian music, from Vasco Rossi to Zucchero, from Adriano Celentano to Angelo Branduardi, and many others.
These are the main novelties of the event, a now consolidated and eagerly awaited event in the city's musical schedule, which thanks to the passion for the six strings transforms Brescia into an open-air concert hall for one day.

Interviewed by Luca Riva of RadioBruno, Braido will talk about his magnificent musical adventure, which saw him alongside singers such as Eros Ramazzotti, Laura Pausini, Patty Pravo, Vasco Rossi, and many others.
Sunday 14 April, 14pm - Piazza della Loggia
All 14 hours there will be the welcoming and "punching" phase of the participants, while "Waiting for 1000 Guitars" will warm up the audience with the entertainment of the partner radio. In this welcoming phase for those who discover the 1000 Guitars in the square at the moment, and wish to participate but do not have the guitar with them, Diffusione Arte makes (classical) guitars available free of charge: even left-handed people will be accommodated, for whom a guitar armed with strings in reverse compared to the "traditional" ones.
In this preliminary phase, which precedes the big concert, the guests of 1000 Chitarre will take to the stage, from Mimmo Cavallo, a singer-songwriter who wrote "Uh Mammà" included in the 18 songs of the setlist in the 1000s, and the "friends" of XNUMX Chitarre in the square, like Cristian Delai who for the occasion will remember the storyteller from Brescia Francesco Braghini, the "master" of all Brescians, who passed away in June 2023 and author of many nursery rhymes and songs dedicated to Brescia and composed in the Brescian dialect, with a light style, but at the same time poetic and ironic. The partners of 1000 Guitars will be presented and will involve local schools and music associations, focusing on the social and cultural themes pursued by the event.
All 15.30 hours the hour will come where "everyone is the protagonist": the final concert of 1000 Guitars in the Square.

At this point comes the great moment dedicated to Andrea Braido, who will go on stage and play two songs on the electric guitar:
- Spingy taken from one of his recording projects entitled The Bizarre Adventures of Doctor Kranius
- smoke on the water by Deep Purple and everyone will be able to accompany him on guitar, like a great band!

During the concert of 1000 guitars in the square, there will be a moment dedicated to children in which a snack will be given away, given the commitment of the participants in the afternoon and above all because this event is dedicated to families and young people, with the aim of making bring them closer to music and the arts.
It doesn't end here: with the competition "1000 Guitars Video Contest” everyone will be able to try their hand at making the first official video of the event. The winner will receive €500; the rules and methods of registration for the competition are online on the millechitarre.com website at the "competitions" link.
As with all past editions, the main objective of 1000 Guitars in the Square is the creation of a moment of aggregation and celebration in which we can all play together some songs that have made the history of music. The event does not aim to gather exclusively expert guitarists or music masters, but people of all ages, united by a passion for music. The invitation is extended to anyone who wants to bring another instrument, not necessarily the guitar.
Video tutorials by the masters of 1000 Chitarre, Isaia Mori, Antonio D'Alessandro, Marco Pezzotta and Valeria Della Valle, were also released on the website www.millechitarre.com and on social channels, together with videos and multimedia content to promote the spirit of event.
Thanks to the agreement with Brescia Mobilità, on Sunday 14 April, anyone who brings a plucked string instrument with them will be able to use public transport (bus, metro) on urban and interurban lines for free.
