Bologna, at the Regional headquarters the history of the Tour de France in 40 vintage shots

From today until June 14th in Bologna at the headquarters of the Region you can visit the exhibition of the Tour de France in 40 vintage shots that retraces all the unforgettable moments of the oldest and most prestigious cycling race in the world. Promoted by the Presidency of the Regional Council, in collaboration with the Legislative Assembly, the exhibition is curated by the Bologna section of the National Union of Sports Veterans

The entire Tour de France in 40 vintage shots. Images that have entered history, which from today until June 14th they will be brought together in an exhibition set up at the headquarters of the Region in Bologna.

In the year of the Great Departure Florence Emilia-Romagna, for the first time from Italy – from June 29th to July 1st - un homage to the oldest and most prestigious stage cycling race in the world, of which the most significant moments from a sporting, historical and social point of view are retraced.

Since Maurice Garin's victory, in the first edition of the Tour in 1903, to the present day: a great collective history, reconstructed through photos coming largely from private collections and period newspapers.

Among the many shots also that of Carlo Martini which immortalises on 6 July 1952 the exchange of the water bottle between Coppi and Bartali, both winners of two editions of the Tour: a symbolic photo like few others of an era.

Or the one about Marco Pantani's extraordinary feat in 1998, summarized in the title of the Gazzetta dello sport “Marc de Triomphe”. Without forgetting, of course, gthe other great Italian champions who won the Tour: Ottavio Bottecchia, Gastone Nencini, Felice gimondi, Vincent Nibali.

Promoted by the Presidency of the Regional Council and carried out in collaboration with the Legislative Assembly, the exhibition is curated by the Bologna section of the National Sports Veterans Union, a voluntary association recognized by CONI which carries out educational and dissemination activities in the sports field.

The exhibition is set up in Viale Aldo Moro 52 and is open to the public from Monday to Friday from 9am to 18pm.
