Bari: the seventh edition of “Bari Piano Festival” is underway. Alessandro Taverna opens with a musical performance entirely dedicated to Rachmaninov.

The seventh edition of “Bari Piano Festival”. Alessandro Taverna will inaugurate the event tonight, at 21 pm, on the steps of the Basilica of San Nicola, with a highly prestigious concert-recital. The young Venetian virtuoso, who already has a very prestigious international career behind him, will perform a musical performance entirely dedicated to Rachmaninov, one of the composers most loved by the public and pianists.

Bari Piano Festival will continue with a solo piano recital by Iiro Rantala, a talented Finnish jazz pianist among the most appreciated in Northern Europe and among the most acclaimed in the world. The concert, which will see the introduction of the music critic and essayist Alceste Ayroldi, will be held tomorrow, Friday 23 August, at 19pm, on Torre Quetta beach. Alex Pala's DJ set will follow.

The initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Bari, is part of the broader programming of the Sea Festival, the unique program of the Bari summer, supported by the Puglia Region – Tourism Department with Pugliapromozione and Teatro Pubblico Pugliese – Regional Consortium for Arts and Culture using funds from POC Puglia 2014/20 Axis VI – Action 6.8. The Bari Piano Festival 2024 enjoys the media partnership of Rai Radio 3 Classical.
