Bari, the literary event Lungomare di Libri returns from 5 to 7 July.

On the proposal of the Councilor for Culture and Tourism, the municipal council yesterday approved the holding of the new edition of Lungomare di Libri, the literary event which for the fourth consecutive year will transform the Apulian capital into a large open-air bookshop - thanks to the presence of local booksellers and publishers – and in a crossroads of meetings with authors from all over Italy, in the symbolic places of the city: in old Bari and along the Wall, from Largo Vito Maurogiovanni to Fortino Sant'Antonio, up to Piazza del Ferrarese.

The fourth edition of Lungomare di Libri, which will take place from 5th to 7th July, will reflect on theme of “The memory of the sea” as a narrative archetype: a metaphor for mobility, travel, adventure and migration and an opportunity to reflect on a series of dichotomies such as emerged and submerged, surface and abyss, fear and fun.

The event, which approximately 25 bookshops from the Bari area and over 30 publishers from Puglia are taking part, today represents a precious event for the promotion of books and reading and for the cultural and tourist development of the city, involving the local community and the many guests in a dense dialogue on books and emerging themes of contemporary literature.

It is always valuable for the Salone to bring its voice outside of Piedmont, involving booksellers, publishers and the entire publishing industry in opportunities for debate for readers from all over Italy.".

The Presìdi del Libro association, committed to promoting reading for over twenty years, brings its contribution to an event of international scope but strongly rooted in the territory, firmly believing in the need to keep the cultural debate alive. We do this through books, essential tools for fueling discussion and forming the consciences of men and women of today and tomorrow".

Lungomare di Libri is promoted by the Municipality of Bari / Department of Culture and Tourism in collaboration with the Presìdi del Libro association (according to the agreement signed on 23/03/2023), with the support of the Puglia Region and the organizational support of the Turin International Book Fair.
