Bari. Presents the 4th Edition of Vivicittà on April 40th.
The fortieth edition of Vivicittà, the historic running event organized by Uisp Bari and Password, scheduled for Sunday 4 April in Bari, was presented on April 14th in the former Treasury room of the Municipality of Bari. At the press conference, moderated by the journalist Enzo Tamborra, attended thecouncilor for Sport of the Municipality of Bari Pietro Petruzzelli, the regional councilor delegated for cultural policies Grazia Di Bari, the president of Uisp Bari Veronica D'Auria and Massimo Grimaldi, designated president of the Anmco national council – National Association of hospital cardiologists.
The biggest news of this edition, which will start at 9.30 on Sunday 14 April from Largo Due Giugno, is thecombination with the Running Heart, the race of the heart: on Saturday 13 April, in the Vivicittà Village, there will be the Prevention Village, where it will be possible to carry out a free electrocardiogram and blood sugar measurement. Furthermore, in collaboration with Federfarma Bari, by registering in participating pharmacies you will be able to have a free electrocardiogram directly to the pharmacy. By virtue of this real twinning with Running Heart, Vivicittà Bari will be recognized as the first stage of the Fidal circuit "Terra di Bari Trophy".
"If there is an event that makes us think of the beauty of running, it is Vivicittà, the race of the people of Bari, already much loved forty years ago when very few people practiced this sporting activity which is now so widespread in our city. - he stressed Pietro Petruzzelli -. This event, in addition to being very well attended, is also always capable of being positively contaminated with themes of great importance. Last year it launched a strong awareness message on combating gender violence, while in this edition, in addition to prevention and health care, we place environmental protection at the center of attention: together with Corepla, the Consortium national for the collection, recycling and recovery of plastic packaging, we will have a major awareness raising activity, during the race and within the Vivicittà Village, to ask runners to correctly dispose of all the plastic bottles consumed during the race, awareness raising which will be added to the normal collection carried out by volunteers. Our message is very simple: in Bari we run while respecting the environment".
"I am pleased to be here to present an event that represents an important piece of the sporting but also social history of our territory – he continued Grace DiBari -. As institutions we have the duty to protect the well-being of citizens, and it is important to do so also through close cooperation with the third sector, associations and even private entities that support this type of action. Promoting well-being through a sports festival means providing cultural welfare, an approach that is becoming increasingly central also at a European level and which naturally goes hand in hand with actions in the medical field and classic social welfare. I therefore thank all the organizers of Vivicittà for the commitment with which they promote correct lifestyles and other positive messages, with a great response of involvement from the community".
"Vivicittà is truly the race most loved by the people of Bari, not only for the great participation that characterizes it but also because it has a truly disruptive aggregating and communicative effectiveness - he has declared Veronica D'Auria -. It is not a simple race, therefore, but a vehicle of important messages and values, an authentic intangible heritage of our city. This year too there is great anticipation, and with the Prevention Village we wanted to further strengthen the combination between this race and the concept of protecting citizens' health which has also characterized it in other editions".
"I thank Uisp and all the other partners who this year make the combination between Vivicittà, the Running Heart and the Prevention Village possible, hoping that it can be a pilot project to be brought to many other Italian cities - he concluded Massimo Grimaldi -. On Saturday, at the Village, we will have three gazebos in which it will be possible to carry out the electrocardiogram and also the blood sugar measurement for free, as well as having the possibility of carrying out a free electrocardiogram in affiliated pharmacies thanks to the availability of Federfarma Bari. We believe that these actions are a way to be closer to people's needs and to make prevention activity more inclusive: this is the meaning of the work we will do together".
As always, it will be possible to participate in the 10 km race (competitive or otherwise) and to 4 km recreational motor walk. The Registration cost is 15 euros, with which you will also receive the race kit which includes this edition's shirt, white with red diamonds, which recalls the exploits of Protti and Tovalieri's Bari, as well as sponsor gadgets.
Appointment, then, at Sunday 14 April for a race that saw athletes of the caliber of Antonio Erotavo and Giacomo Leone win in Bari and which, above all, will allow everyone to spend a day dedicated to sport, environmental protection and health care.
