Bari: Presentation of the 1th edition of the “MIMMO BUCCI” Award scheduled for Saturday 6 February at the Petruzzelli Theatre with XNUMX young talents in the final

It was presented on the morning of 28st January, City Palace, XV° edition of the “Mimmo Bucci, National Festival of Emerging Music” award, whose final evening is scheduled Saturday February 1 al Petruzzelli Theater.

The initiative, born to remember Mimmo Bucci, the frontman of the group “Vasco's gang“, hit and killed by a pirate motorbike on the Bari seafront on the night of 15 May 2007, aims to give voice to the young musicians and, at the same time, to offer them an opportunity to emerge in the national music scene.

The details of the event, promoted with the support of the Municipality of Bari and Puglia region, were illustrated, in the presence of the mayor of Bari Vito Leccese and the Councilor for Culture Paula Romano, from the artistic director of the event Antonello Vannucci and come on Mimmo Bucci's parents, Francesca and Antonio, who were in charge of organizing the music festival.

"I would like to express my thanks to Francesca and Antonio for their commitment and their stubborn persistence, which will also allow us to witness the Mimmo Bucci award this year. – he began Vito Leccese. We have reached the fifteenth edition of the festival dedicated to emerging music which is now part of the city ​​cultural programming.

An event in memory of Mimmo and his musical and creative talent, which resonate and live again every year through the participation of young musicians in the evening organized in the Petruzzelli theater. I am particularly proud of the support that, despite many difficulties, the municipal administration manages to guarantee to the organization set up by the parents and many friends of Mimmo, in fact a group of volunteers who give the city an artistic moment of the highest level and to Francesca and Antonio the certainty of never being alone.

I am also particularly excited because, having followed the evolution of the prize established in the second mandate of Michele Emiliano, it is a great joy for me to be able to participate as the first citizen".

Despite the great pain he experiences every day, for 15 years he has been able to give the city this exceptional moment, also giving the opportunity to many young people to have a unique experience in the Petruzzelli theater.

This is also an event that brings a lot of luck: many participants from previous editions, in fact, have graced prestigious stages such as the Sanremo festival or X Factor. For this reason I believe that receiving such encouragement from Francesca and Antonio, who put their heart into it together with Antonello Vannucci and to Mimmo's many friends, he is a great 'emotional sponsor', which is why the city of Bari is very grateful to him".

"I have to thank the mayor, the councilor Romano and the municipal administration for the support that they never fail to give us. – he continued Antonello Vannucci - This enriches a truly strange journey, because so many beautiful things have happened since Mimmo is no longer with us, and the award dedicated to him is certainly one of these.

Many, after the festival, continued to perform on prestigious national stages and we owe all this to Mimmo. It was his dream: if Francesca had not found a press article in which Mimmo declared that he would have liked more space and attention for young people, we would never have given life to the festival.

Today these guys are the ones who speak for Mimmo, as evidenced by the many good proposals we receive, especially from musicians from Puglia who make very interesting productions. This is the miracle of our event, which allows Mimmo to continue to live through their music".

The final evening of the award “Mimmo Bucci, National Festival of Emerging Music" will be held Saturday February 1, at 20.30 pm, in Petruzzelli Theater and will be conducted by Mauro Pulpit, supported by the journalist of Radio Norba Stefania Losito.

The Bucci family will award a cash prize to the first place winner. jury will be chaired by Pasquale Thirty-three.

The evening will also be enlivened by the comic magician Francesco Scimeni, The same Antonello Vannucci, Fabiano Marti, Mimmo Bucci Tribute Band, Giulia Fornarelli, AliThere is and the baby Giorgia Allegrini, finalist of the program “The Voice Kids".

Part of the proceeds from the evening will be donated al Pediatric Oncology Department of the Polyclinic of Bari and Rozalba House, an active family home in Tirana.
