Bari: “All in festival” presented, two days to promote inclusion and respect for differences.
The Mayor Vito Leccese attended this morning the presentation of “All in festival”, the initiative promoted by the associations Gens Nova, ZeroBarriere and LeZZanzare scheduled for next Saturday and Sunday, September 21st and 22nd, in Torre Quetta. They have the program is illustrated of the two-day event the presidents of Zerobarriere Marco Livrea, of LeZZanZare Antonio Garofalo, the president and vice-president of Gens Nova Antonio Genchi and Antonio La Scala, the president of the National Deaf Organization Vito Andreola and Vincenzo Pittella, director of Bper Banca in the presence of the councilor for Culture Paola Romano and the president of the council commission for Culture Francesca Bottalico.
The initiative can be defined as a sort of “experiential fair” which aims to to raise awareness among citizens of respect for the uniqueness and differences that each person carries.
A review of the uniqueness and the right to self-determination, where nothing is taken for granted, and where experience becomes a tool for understanding the world using different perspectives.
“I thank all the organizations that created this extraordinary event – Mayor Leccese made his debut – a festival that celebrates our uniqueness and the right of each person to define and self-determine. Concepts that today should be acquired, but that in fact still struggle to assert themselves. For this reason, it is right to continue working so that the concept of diversity intended as a limit fades, because we are all different, each with their own identity, each with their own uniqueness. Be inclusive, therefore, means working so that everyone has the same rights, whether it is right to mobility or access to services or sport, it doesn't matter. Within the festival there is an event scheduled as part of Le due Bari, whose name comes from a song by Pier Paolo Pasolini that talks about Adriatic happiness. We have built the narrative of this city on happiness, but we must always remember that if the city is not happy for everyone, it will never be completely happy. It is no coincidence that one of the The main objectives of my government program are to make Bari increasingly accessible and fair, a goal that we would like to achieve with the help of all of you, who have visions, sensibilities and precious skills to put into play”.
“The mission of ZeroBarriere – remembered Marco Livrea – has always been that of break down physical and mental obstacles of each person, allowing the full realization of all. Having such a large audience to continue our work is an important opportunity because, after having witnessed important sporting events such as the Paratriathlon and Bari city +, once again we return among the people and together we try to sow and reap the fruit of inclusion".
“This initiative – Antonio Genchi explained – has the merit of bringing out the many abilities that special people possess, and allows for input to those who, due to shame, do not have social relationships and are unable to express their potential. For everyone it will be a weekend full of activities in the name of sport, art, music, entertainment and much more, accompanied by laughter, joy and emotions. We expect the citizens to respond en masse to this call”.
“For twelve years – Antonio Garofalo continued – we have set in motion a gentle revolution, which starts from the bottom and promotes respect for diversity. The festival will allow us to focus attention on defending everyone's rights. Because these rights exist, many take them for granted, but for others they are difficult to access. The time has therefore come to network among us, making ourselves auxiliary entities of the institutions”.
“The barriers we are talking about today – Paola Romano observed – are not only physical, but also, and above all, mental, and this is why the festival represents the point of arrival of a series of paths that we have shared with the associations over the years. Two important days because they will allow us to show the city from a different perspective, that of art: art, in fact, by its nature, builds bridges between people, and can reveal the beauty of the human being. And through the inclusive message of art we will get to know the different realities of the city”.
“As president of the municipal commission for Culture, Sport and Education – underlined Francesca Bottalico – I am enthusiastic because the festival represents a further opportunity for the network of territorial associations involved to make their experience available to the entire community. The most important objective is ensure inclusive sports experiences, moments of reflection also on taboo topics such as the sexuality of people with disabilities, to create a truly inclusive community".
"The initiative - Vincenzo Pittella concluded – is inspired by the concept, dear to Bper Banca, of social responsibility. Social inclusion and cohesion, and the reduction of inequalities, pass through events like this, which convey two messages: to special kids, who are encouraged to to get involved and believe in their potential, and to all the others, who often do not realize the abilities of these people."
As part of the two-day program (available in the attachment), the fair will offer several experiential corners, such as “Black is back” (living moments of daily life without the use of sight) and “Sealed lips” (dialogues using only LIS language).
The event will be held on Saturday and Sunday morning “Gp All In BPER Trophy 2024“: crazy race for crazy vehicles, at 10 am on the circuit created in the Bari lido, blind people will compete alone on trirides, electric wheelchairs with motors or pushed by a “rider”. At 18.30:XNUMX pm, “Aperitivi ciecati” (blind aperitifs) is scheduled.
In the evening hours the central stage will host talk which will deal with highly topical topics, from sexuality to the dangers of the web.
