Bari, Remembrance Day, presentation of the concert event “Preserving the memory”

The press conference to present the concert event will be held on Monday 22 January, at 10 am, in the former treasury room of Palazzo di Città. “Preserving the memory”, scheduled for next January 27th in the auditorium of the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory.

The concert, dedicated to Memorial Day, will see the participation of students and teachers of the Bari Conservatory and expert artists of the concentration camp musical repertoire, the musical production composed in prison or extermination camps, in extreme conditions of deprivation of fundamental human rights.

In addition to the world premiere of three scores, some compositions will be performed with the “Hillenbrand” violin of Auschwitz and, in an absolute preview, with the newly restored violin of the musician prisoner of war Cesare Savino, who will play for the first time in Bari. During the event some original films and audio from the concentration camps.

The maestro will present the event Francesco Lotoro, president of the Institute of Concentrationary Musical Literature Foundation and leading world expert on concentrationary music, maestro Antonio Tinelli, organizer of the concert event, the president of the Conservatory Fabio Diomede, the councilor for Educational and Youth Policies Paola Romano, the regional councilor Sebastiano Leo and Pasquale Martino, provincial president of the Anpi of Bari.
