Bari, 80th anniversary of the CLN Congress, Decaro announces the presence of President Mattarella
The mayor of Bari, Antonio Decaro, announced this morning that the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, will be in Bari next Monday 29 January for the celebrations of the eightieth anniversary of the Bari Congress of the National Liberation Committees which was celebrated on 28 and 29 January 1944 in the Piccinni Theatre.
The event organized by the Municipality of Bari, with the collaboration of ANPI, IPSAIC, Fondazione Di Vagno, Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, University of Bari, Anppia and Fondazione Gramsci will take place in the spaces of the municipal theater on the morning of January 29th with a busy program of events
During the morning, Professor Luciano Canfora will hold a lectio magistralis entitled “From the armistice to the Congress of Bari”
“I am happy to be able to announce that the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella will be in our city on Monday 29 January to celebrate with us the 80th anniversary of the Bari Congress of the National Liberation Committees which was celebrated on 28 and 29 January 1944 in the Piccinni Theater in Bari – comments Mayor Decaro – An important event which eighty years ago changed the history of the whole of Italy and which today represents one of the most significant pages in the history of the Liberation and the birth of the Italian Republic. With pride and great emotion we will welcome the President. The democratic refoundation of Italy passed through Bari and we will pay homage to the women and men who were part of it."
