At the Seal Museum the start of the great weekend with "Small Big Treasures to be rediscovered".

Spice. The big weekend at the Seal Museum beginsLittle Big Treasures to be rediscovered”. Tomorrow, Friday 10 November at 17.30pm, will be revealed by the Mayor Pierluigi Peracchini, for the first time in the history of the museum, the over 300 unpublished seals from the civic collection and the new exhibition itinerary with new layout of the spaces.

“A new exhibition itinerary for the Seal Museum – declares the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini - which will enhance the large collection made up of seals from all over the world and which is enriched with over 300 unpublished ones. Our Museum is a real jewel in the heart of the city which this weekend will be revealed to the public in all its beauty in its new guise with workshops designed for every generation. I invite you not to miss the opportunity to visit it.”

The Museum, in fact, originally developed over three rooms, has been expanded thanks to the inclusion of a fourth room located at the beginning of the route and intended for a chronological exposition of the seals, which proceeds from its origins to the modern era. The second room has also been partially revisited, preferring instead a typological criterion: the numerous display windows they host seal nuclei that are united by the nature of the material they are made of or because they can be traced back to an artistic language that strongly characterizes them, or even to a favorite theme.

The completion of the museum layout was then followed by actions aimed at improve its readability by adapting the information supports that integrate the visit: room panels and a detailed brochure were designed and created – which it is offered to visitors together with the entrance ticket to the Museum – and an in-depth path accessible via the QR-Code system, designed by Dramatic Iceberg, currently available for some shop windows and which will then be applied to the entire museum itinerary.

On Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th November will be organized at Seal Museum and in Special Art Library and Archeology meetings and workshops dedicated to engage visitors in some of the many themes that the collection offers, in particular to try your hand at creating an oriental seal and get closer to calligraphic art, trying firsthand the engraving of the soapstone and writing with calligraphic papers and inks.
