At Palazzo Loggia the conference “Work and Fragility in Brescia: the bridge of cooperation”

Not just a celebration, but an opportunity to rediscover and reactivate that thought, those energies that led to an extraordinary result that then contributed to the construction of the national legislation, law 381/91.

Continue to be the engine of a social change destined to remain, to grow, to become a model to look at at a national and European level. This is what emerged in the conference "Work and Fragility in Brescia: the bridge of cooperation” organized by Confcooperative Brescia and the Municipality of Brescia on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the signing of the historic Convention between the Municipality of Brescia and Social Cooperation for the performance of public green maintenance services. Not just a celebration, but an opportunity to rediscover and reactivate that thought, those energies that led to an extraordinary result that then contributed to the construction of the national legislation, law 381/91.

A morning opened by greetings from the mayor Laura Castelletti who reiterated: "We still want to be protagonists of change, we want to be the center of a renewed hope and of a far-sighted planning. What we reiterate today is the commitment of those who continue to see work as a path to rebirth and inclusion and cooperation as an irreplaceable pillar of the social fabric" and of the President of Confcooperative Brescia Menni who recalled that Brescia is a city still capable of making a pact on "I trust".

Then slowly from the experience of the past, told in its many facets by those who 40 years ago built this path and arrived at the signature – Happy Scalvini, Giovanna Giordani Bussolati, Francesco Capuccini and Luigi Morgano – we have arrived at the present with a nice film with numbers (in the province of Brescia there are approximately 250 social cooperatives that belong to Confcooperative, of which 120 are involved in job placement programs for approximately 2100 vulnerable individuals) and finally to the future.

Pressed by the host's questions Erminio Bissolotti, Michele Pasinetti – Vice President and General Secretary of Confcooperative Brescia – spoke about the fragility “which concerns us all”, which can become a component of our life in an instant and, for this very reason, must be considered in its various forms, some better known, others emerging, but all equally in need of attention and specific professionalism. Like the NEET (young people between 15 and 29 years old who do not have and are not looking for a job) who in Lombardy today are about 150 thousand for which it is urgent to start work inclusion paths starting from the many experiments of the cooperative world.

Il work is the great protagonist of the future for the fragile subjects who can access it only through social cooperation. The comparison between the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Brescia Roberto Saconne, Andrea Poli, Councillor of the Municipality of Brescia with responsibility for Productive Activities, Tourism, Social and Economic Innovation and Digital Transition, Simona Tironi Councillor for Education, Training and Work of the Lombardy Region, Joanna Barbieri e Beppe Bruni of Confcooperative Federsolidarietà Brescia has highlighted that today it is possible to start paths of emancipation and work experimentationThe time is ripe for all parties involved: businesses, cooperation and public bodies. Businesses must know and exploit the opportunities that cooperation offers today (high quality services at consistent prices involving people often excluded from the world of work) and the public body must facilitate the realization of these synergies with projects and financing.

A path that must start immediately "keeping our feet where they were placed today" - recalled the Councilor of the Municipality of Brescia with responsibility for Policies for the Family, the Person and Longevity, Welfare and Health Mark Fenaroli – and then maybe meet again in a couple of years to talk about a pact that is working and the results it has brought – he closed Albert Feast, President of Confcooperative Federsolidarietà Brescia.

Like 40 years ago, today Brescia wants to be once again the forge of innovative cooperation, capable of responding to the needs of a constantly evolving society.
