Come back Sunday 26 November from 8:00 to 19:30 in Piazza Cavour, “The Farm in the city”, one of the most anticipated and successful events on the agenda of events organized by the Municipality of La Spezia. A now traditional event to learn about animals, savor the scents of the countryside and taste the genuine delicacies of our land.
The rich program was presented this morning during a press conference by the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini and by the councilor for productive activities and trade Marco Frascatore. Also present were representatives of the institutions, associations and producers who they will be present in the square on Sunday 26 November.
“An event awaited and appreciated by adults and children alike – declares the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini - who will be able to have the opportunity to carry out many educational activities and taste delicacies related to the agricultural world. An event that aims to raise citizens' awareness of respect for nature and introduce them to environmental issues in a pleasant and fun way. Thanks to Councilor Frascatore and to all the associations and exhibitors involved in the organization.”
“A day dedicated to what has now become a tradition of our city and which will be grafted, now upon us, into the Christmas period - declares the Councilor Marco Frascatore - Therefore, thanks also to this wonderful event, we will once again see our streets full of events and meeting opportunities. A very welcome return, which will introduce the little ones to the animals up close and at the same time also a moment to let everyone know and savor the scents of the countryside while tasting the truly genuine delicacies of our land. All this will be enriched with a market exhibition of typical local products and neighboring territories and, together with our children, we will find educational workshops dedicated to them where they will have the opportunity to live a new experience. A winning blend made of nature, territory, tradition and respect for the animal world which, in everyday life, is increasingly distant from the experiences of our lives in a period, that of the Christmas holidays, full of joy and hope."
Born in 2006, the “farm in the city” from year to year it has become richer and is grew in number of exhibitors, visitors and initiatives presented, becoming an important attraction, not only for the people of La Spezia, but also for tourists. The Farm in the City was born with the aim of bringing the agricultural world closer to the city world and raise awareness among citizens, especially the little ones, to the themes ofeducation on consumption and respect for biodiversity.
Sunday 26th in Piazza Cavour there will be producers, trade associations and consortia present, who will offer tastings and the sale of typical agricultural, food and artisanal products. To enrich the day not only the market exhibition of typical local products and neighboring territories but also educational workshops for children organized by the Civic Museums of La Spezia, of the social cooperative Coopselios, Fattoria del Carpanedo, COCEA social cooperative - Bioasio del Carpanedo, edited by Trade associations.
The long-awaited appointment with the baptism of the saddle will be renewed by Sarzanese Equestrian Centre and the possibility for children to take a pony ride. Furthermore there will be an exhibition of vintage agricultural vehicles curated by Gthresher group of Val di Magra.
Participation in all workshops is free and booking is on site.

THE ART OF CROXETTO: We knead the flour to create sheets that we will decorate with the traditional molds of our territory. Seal Museum
AUGUSTO'S SNACK: Let's reproduce the Roman sandwiches by mixing flour, seeds and pieces of dried fruit and cook them in the oven, after having decorated them in a mold with the image of the Medusa.
CAMeC THE COLORS OF AUTUMN: This season offers us the spectacle of countless colors and shades to inspire us to create themed compositions.
There will be a tasting/workshop area with presentation of the products by the Ass. Typical of the Emanuela Zannoni Park
