Asti: “INVITO AL RAP”, Rap between music and poetry 2nd edition.

The rap event returns to the Teatro Alfieri on Tuesday 17 October. The 2023 edition, promoted by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Asti in collaboration with the Department of Education, will be dedicated to students of the city's lower and upper secondary schools and will consist of a talk during which we will discuss rap, the process that leads to the formation of a song and the importance of metrics between poetry and classical literature. “After the success of the first edition and after the summer evening of AstiRap, the appointment returns to the Theater with the event “Invitation to Rap” which proves to be a winning choice – comment by the Mayor Maurizio Rasero and the Councilor for Culture Paride Candelaresi. On Tuesday, in fact, the Theater is already fully booked, with a significant number of classes joining.".

Education Councilor Loretta Bologna, underlines the value of the initiative which “It constitutes a valid opportunity for participating students to learn more about the world of music by connecting it to poetry and literature, living a different experience that combines teaching with creativity in the splendid setting of the Alfieri theatre”. This year's edition, in fact, will focus on the relationship between music and poetry, just as indicated in the title.

“We will start from the analysis of the linguistic aspect of rap, understood as contemporary poetry – added Candelaresi – to then address the topic of the formation of a rap song and the importance that metric and musicality assume".

Leading the morning, in addition to Councilor Candelaresi, there will be the rapper Luca Tomatis, who deals with Territorial Education for the social services of Asti. Among the guests were Prof. Carlo Bavastro, teacher of the Vittorio Alfieri classical high school in Asti, the famous rapper Marco Zuli aka Zuli and Rebirth, the young winner of the first edition of AstiRap. At the end of the meeting, a debate will follow between students and experts. The appointment is at the Teatro Alfieri on Tuesday 17 October at 11.00.
