Ascoli, appointment with vintage cars for ACI Storico
With separate departures from the headquarters of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo, the annual ACI Storico event will take place next Sunday 4 September, according to the national program of "Wheels in History". The event will bring the passionate members of the Piceno Automobile Club with their vintage cars to discover the fascinating village of Montefiore dell'Aso.
The event will start at 8 am with the meeting and accreditation of participants from Piazza Arringo in Ascoli Piceno and from Piazza del Popolo in Fermo. A total of around 30 crews are expected. The cars will then move at 40 am from the two locations along a panoramic route in the hinterland to arrive and join in Piazza della Repubblica in Montefiore dell'Aso about an hour later.
Those leaving from Ascoli will pass through Villa Pigna, Villa Sant'Antonio, Offida, Santa Maria Goretti and Ripatransone. The crews that will start from Fermo will head towards San Girolamo, Grottazzolina, Monte Giberto, Petritoli, Monte Vidon Combatte, Valmir and Rubbianello. Once everyone has arrived in Montefiore dell'Aso, once the vintage cars have been parked, the crews will be welcomed and greeted by the Municipal Administration and the Organizing staff.
A guided tour of the village is then scheduled at 11:00 am and then lunch with tasting of the local food and wine excellences at the Museum Center of San Francesco, which will then be visited from 15:00 pm to complete the day. The rally will end with the distribution of gifts and certificates of participation to the crews.
The visit to the Museum Complex of San Francesco is particularly interesting, where there are works by the Venetian artist Carlo Crivelli, who left many of his works in the Marche region in the 14th century. In the Polo there is Giancarlo Basili's Scenographic Documentation Center, dedicated to Italian cinema and the collection of local artist Adolfo De Carolis. There is also a Museum of Rural Civilizations and the Domenico Cantatore Collection.
