Arezzo, Giocosport: the Municipality joins the Coni project

Recreational-motor education initiative for nursery schools. From April to June 350 girls and boys "at sports school"

Arezzo, Giocosport: the municipality of Arezzo joins the Coni project.

“An important project, which recognizes two of the most identifying characteristics of sport, Or the sociality and health, a fundamental role in the growth of the little ones. GiocoSport brings our girls and boys back together on an educational journey and healthy and creative development of body and mind, aimed at greater knowledge of oneself, of movement and space.

A convinced adhesion, that of the Municipality, to an initiative that takes on even greater value after the very long period of restrictions and limitations which the pandemic forced us to do." This is the comment of the deputy mayor and school councilor Lucia Tanti on the decision taken by the council to join the "GiocoSport" initiative promoted by the CONI Regional Committee through its provincial delegation.

This is a recreational-motor education project dedicated to nursery and primary schools, whose main purpose is to transmit, precisely through the practice of sport, values useful for the formation of the child's personality and character, harmoniously promoting his psycho/physical development, improving the level of quality of life and facilitating social inclusion and integration.

The project, which involves nursery schools in Arezzo, involves one hour a week of play/motor activities followed by a teacher with a degree in motor sciences, indicated by the CONI in agreement with the managers of the schools concerned, who will operate in co-presence with the teacher.

“Even for sports disciplines there is a need for an approach and education to their knowledge and practice – comments the sports councilor Federico Scapecchi. – Starting this contact from an early age is really important, for healthy growth and for sharing all those values of which sport is the custodian. From April to June, our girls and boys will have a lot of fun,” concludes the councilor.

“GiocoSport” will involve, for the period April/June 2022, 350 boys and girls from all the municipal nursery schools owned by the municipality and specifically, 100 at the “Don Milani”, 75 at the “Orciolaia” school, 50 at the “ Sitorni”, 100 at the “Pallanca, 25 at the “Acropoli.
