Everything is ready for Popsophia's debut in Ancona

The national festival which will officially take place in March, lands at the Mole Vanvitelliana with the long-awaited preview of the unpublished philoshows conceived and created by the artistic director Lucrezia Ercoli specifically for the city during the Christmas period. The bookable seats made available by the organization for the shows sold out within 24 hours Saturday 16 December and Sunday 17 December.

However, it will still be possible to attend the event and have a ticket for the seats not assigned in the reservation. Furthermore, to allow the widest possible participation, those who cannot find a seat in the auditorium will be able to take part in the event thanks to the setting up of a LED wall monitor in another room of the Mole Vanvitelliana which will broadcast the show live.

An answer audience which gives us hope for the future of the event: “We did not expect such a rapid response and such widespread support and consensus – said the artistic director Lucrezia Ercoli – we are certain that the Ancona public will be able to offer us a further stimulus to do well and to extend and broaden the horizons of pop philosophy to the entire cultural fabric of the city". And also the exhibition “Beautiful is the ugly and ugly is the beautiful”, visitable in person and through VR viewers in the modular and virtual gallery of MeGa, in the first days of opening it recorded a full book of reservations.

The Popsophia curtain therefore opens on Saturday 16th with the philoshow “Dear Santa Claus…”: musical philosophical show that draws on the cinematic imagery of Christmas as a myth of desire, of hope through the voices of those who told it through writing.

Speakers on stage together with Lucrezia Ercoli, a trio of exceptional women writers: Licia Troisi, popularizer and fantasy writer who will address Christmas from an astronomical point of view, from the winter solstice to "comet", Giulia Caminito, winner of the Campiello award with “Lake water is never sweet” who will present an excerpt from his new yet unpublished book which tells how the search for Christmas lights in the attic brings out ancient feelings and Giulia Ciarapica, a writer and book blogger from the Marche region who will retrace the topos of Christmas in literature. The guests' lectio will be punctuated by a live performance by Popsophia's band, the Factory, which will propose a Christmas repertoire of songs that constitute the inevitable soundtrack of the holidays and more unusual musical choices.

Sunday 17 December is the turn of the second entitled philoshow “Dear friend I am writing to you…”. An evening dedicated to the future with the imaginative music of Lucio Dalla and the words of the philosopher Lucrezia Ercoli and the music critic Carlo Massarini, the unforgettable Mister Fantasy. A journey into the visionary stories of Lucio Dalla's songs, from his beginnings to scat, from game songs like Attenti al lupi, to ballads like Caruso, alternating real and surreal, freedom and theatricality. To close with the words of “Futura”: “Who knows, who knows tomorrow…”.
