Ancona: “La grande medicina interna” the sixteenth conference on common health problems of citizens.

In the Marche region, 9 thousand overweight or obese people, a condition that causes serious cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, will be the focus of the conference on 4 and 5 October

Is called “The great internal medicine”, we read the sixteenth conference, mainly for information and prevention purposes, on the common health problems of citizens. Inside the great program schedule of Extra G7 Health, This event also lasts two days, from Friday 4 to Saturday 5 October, at the Montessori Hall of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Polytechnic University of Marche in Ancona.

In the Marche region, obesity cases are on the rise, one of the factors contributing to serious cardiovascular diseases, at the center of the debate organized by UnivPm and INRCA: in our region There are approximately 9 thousand people affected by overweight and obesity, conditions that favor arterial hypertension, cardiovascular problems (heart attack, heart failure), diabetes mellitus and other pathologies.

“This conference, now in its sixteenth edition, constitutes a very important event for healthcare professionals at a national level, thanks to the completeness of the topics covered and the participation of illustrious guests from the area and beyond, – explains Riccardo Sarzani, scientific director of the conference and Director of the Medical and Geriatric Clinic at INRCA and the Polytechnic University of Marche – but above all we intend this moment to be a moment to focus on cardiovascular and cardiometabolic medicine aimed at everyone, during which not only the surgeon, but also the common citizen will be able to get to know first-hand the behaviors to adopt to prevent, every day, the the onset of increasingly widespread diseases such as, for example, high blood pressure and cholesterol. For this reason, the theme of the conference 'Great internal medicine in the complex patient: cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, metabolic and geriatric aspects' must be read from the perspective of a global approach to common health problems”.

Also of note are the issues relating to geriatrics: in the Marche, in fact, there are 306 thousand over 65s, a population segment equal to 21,8% of the total population (compared to the 18,6% of the analogous rate for Italy). The conference partner is the INRCA (National Institute for Research and Care for the Elderly) of Ancona.

Enabling the entire population to prevent major diseases, namely the most common ones such as high blood pressure, heart attacks and strokes, is one of the aims of the 'Extra G7 Salute' programme., an opportunity to raise awareness and prevention aimed at citizens who will be able to directly deal with some of the most widespread pathologies at a national level.

On October 4th, among others, we will discuss the cardiovascular and metabolic aspects and address the latest developments in clinical medicine with a practical mini-course, interactive clinical cases and readings. There will be four sessions on Saturday 5 October: blood pressure and hypertension, respiratory and cardiovascular aspects, obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus and finally a practical session will be held with stations for ultrasound diagnostics and a round table on reporting.

Participation in the events, for a total of 14 hours between Friday 4 October and Saturday 5 October, provides for the recognition of 14 ECM credits for the following professions: surgeon (cardiology, endocrinology, geriatrics, metabolic diseases and diabetology, respiratory system diseases, internal medicine, nephrology, neurology, general medicine, continuity of care, food science and dietetics, pharmacology and clinical toxicology) and pharmacist (pharmacy local, hospital pharmacy).
