Ancona: Sitting Volleyball, Italian men's cup final at Palabrasili
Countdown to the FINAL OF THE ITALIAN MEN'S SITTING VOLLEY CUP which will take place on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th December in Ancona at the Palabrasili of Collemarino. As per the calendar, announced in recent days, the semi-final matches will take place on Saturday from 18.00 pm to approximately 20.00 pm, and then continue with the finals on Sunday 17th morning at approximately 10.00 am and 12.00 pm. Competing for the men's Italian Cup will be Città dei Gigli di Nola, reigning Italian champions and fresh winners of the Italian Super Cup, the Marche players of the Synergie Fermana Volley Academy, Cedacri Giocoparma, VCCesena.
The four teams they will face each other on the first day in two crossed semi-finals based on the final ranking of the 2023 Italian Championship. On the second day the losing teams will be involved in the 3/4th place finals, while the winning teams will face each other in the final counting for the title. At the end of the meetings the awards ceremony will take place.
The Italian Sitting Volley cup turns the spotlight on Ancona - as a center of disability and inclusion - with the project launched in schools, entitled “We play Sitting Volley”. In the meetings in schools, which will continue in 2024, the only sporting discipline that completely eliminates the distances between disabled and non-disabled people is illustrated and put into practice: they play together, sitting, without being able to move their pelvis from the floor.
The initiative - presented in recent days by councilors Zinni and Berardinelli - is the result of collaboration between the Municipality of Ancona, the regional guarantor for human rights and the Fermana Volleyball School, third nationally in Serie A, a pioneer of the discipline which, in collaboration with the Federation, with the MIUR and the comprehensive institutions that have given credit to a project to promote a sport with a strong inclusive value and easy to implement in local schools.
