“Highly”: the reading dedicated to the writer Antonio Delfini on Tuesday 25 July at the Ducal Gardens of Modena.
Is titled "Aloud"The reading dedicated to Antonio Delfini which will be staged at Ducal gardens of Modena Tuesday 25 July, at 21pm, as part of the Modena Summer program. The evening is at free admission. The show at the Summer Gardens, which alternates readings and live music, is edited by SquiLibri Collective who wrote it to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the death of the Modena writer which occurred on February 23, 1963.
Esteemed and praised by authors and critics such as Giorgio Bassani, Cesare Garboli, Attilio Bertolucci, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Natalia Ginzburg, Gianni Celati and Marco Belpoliti, Antonio Delfini was a writer “brilliant as well as bizarre and unsystematic”, a flaneur out of time, a tireless creator of magazines, newspapers and projects, who poured his all into writing, squandering every resource.
The scheduled readings are taken from “The Battimonda taillight”, the “Diaries”, “The memory of the Basca”, the “Stories”, “Unknown author presents” and “Poems of the end of the world, of before and after”. The show debuted last January 20, at the Tenda in Modena, as part of the "Via Emilia Trilogy", again curated by the Collettivo Squilibri, which also included a reading on Gianni Celati and Luigi Ghirri and one on Pier Vittorio Tondelli. SquiLibri is composed of Stefania Delia Carnevali, Eleonora De Agostini, Claudio Luppi, Francesco Rossetti, Daniele Rossi and Luca Zirondoli: narrators, actors and musicians with a passion for literature and the desire to put it into circulation through multi-voice readings that combine performances , storytelling and live music. The figure and work of Antonio Delfini will also be at the center of a training course for cartoonists which will culminate in the creation of a graphic novel. The initiative, in the planning phase and scheduled for autumn, is promoted by the Municipality of Modena in collaboration with the Young Artists of Emilia Romagna network (Gaer), Arci and the Modena library system.
