Alessandria, “Word Wounds”: Marzo Donna's reading that calls for Respect

Alessandria, “Ferite da parole” is a show by and with Daniela Tusa and Paolo Enrico Archetti Maestri of Yo Yo Mundi – lyrics and songs are their work, but there will be poems, fragments of prose and quotes from others – created for Zonta Club Alessandria , Inner Wheel and Subalpina Press Association with the supervision of the President of the Equal Opportunities Council of the Municipality of Alessandria Nadia Biancato for the Women's March 2021.
A song theater reading conceived, constructed and created together to give the event the authentic sense of respect due to women, of all ages, but more generally to every person. In its aim of "educating respect" the three associations present in the Consulta found the support of the CPO FNSI - Equal Opportunities Commission of the National Italian Press Federation - and the collaboration of the "Amici del Vinci" Association and the Institute of Higher Education Vinci Nervi Fermi of Alessandria which will host the first, becoming one of the two key events of the Equal Opportunities Department for this 2021 edition.

Word wounds are "words that hurt more than blows" as fourteen-year-old Carolina Picchio wrote in her suicide note, before committing suicide overwhelmed by the bullying and violence exercised against her by some of her peers.

They are the words that undermine people's serenity: the heavy ones that hurt like stones thrown at zero point, the ones that burn like spent cigarettes on the skin, the ones that bounce off the tips of the lips and then hit us in the back.
And they are, in particular, the words that tarnish, offend, devastate women (and which too often are the precursor to physical violence which, not infrequently, dramatically leads to murder), fueled by chauvinism, clichés and prejudices, open wounds of our society still too distant from an idea of ​​real equality between the sexes.
And then there are also those words that we sometimes misunderstand and among these there are those that arrive without depth, debased by the flat configuration of the web, not spoken orally, but written in chat or as comments, without the support of the other senses and sensations of the exchange between human beings "in presence".

“Daniela and Paolo, with their voice and singing, will try to untie some knots by shaking certain words in order to spill their most surprising meaning onto the rough table of creation. They will try to open them - because words are boxes -, probing meaning and signifier, word by word, verse by verse, note by note, so that every word wound becomes a scar of thought. They will initially do it together with 160 students from the 4th and 5th classes of Vinci in Alessandria: with Cinzia Lumiera we wanted to bring reading first and foremost into the school, where teaching goes beyond that of mere school subjects, creating the adults of tomorrow , those citizens we would like, finally respectful of others, without distinctions, stereotypes, gratuitous malice that a civil society must be able to free itself from. I thank the women's service clubs Zonta Club and Inner Wheel for having strongly supported this initiative, the Subalpina Press Association and the CPO FNSI who spend so much on the language, but in particular thanks go to the IIS Vinci Nervi Fermi for the hospitality and the willingness to involve, together with the association of friends and former students, many students on a topic that cannot be postponed" highlights Nadia Biancato.

“We are reaching the conclusion of the March Donna journey – we will have another event on April 7th – in the highest way, honoring the motto of this event “Women Right's are Human Rights”. We do this by involving young people so that certain words no longer have to be used, so that they can start a cultural renaissance that we must and want to trigger starting from our city and gradually throughout the country. Educating respect is our priority” concludes Councilor Cinzia Lumiera.

The show will be recorded and re-proposed on the websites and social channels of the Municipality of Alessandria, of the proposing and involved Associations, of the IIS Vinci Nervi Fermi starting from the month of April.
