A day as a Carabiniere for the students of the 5th grade classes of the Comacchio Comprehensive Institute
The students spent the morning in the offices of the Carabinieri Station, the Operations Center, the Forestry Department and the Radiomobile of the Comacchio Company.
A day as a Carabiniere for the students of the 5th grade classes of the Comacchio Comprehensive Institute
On the occasion of the National Unity Day and Armed Forces Day, 50 students from the 3 5th grade classes of the “Fattibello” primary school in Comacchio they visited the “Scantamburlo” barracks, spending the morning in the offices of the Carabinieri Station, the Operations Centre, the Forestry Department and the Radiomobile of the Comacchio Company.
It was a morning that the 50 little students who attended will not forget. by 9: 00 11 to: 00, escorted on foot by the station commander and the Carabinieri of Comacchio from their school to the nearby barracks, were able to live a day as a Carabiniere.
The visit began with the flag raising and the national anthem in front of the commemorative plaque of the Gold Medal for Military Valor VB Christian Scantamburlo, in the presence of the Deputy Mayor Maura Tomasi who wanted to bring his greetings to the students. The visit then continued in the two squares of the barracks and in the offices, where a representation of Carabinieri from the Station explained the roles and activities they perform on a daily basis, showing the material they use and involving the little students in a “Special” treasure hunt to find a mysterious stolen bicycle.
We continued with the Forestry Unit that has showed some really unique objects, enhancing the importance of the and environmental protection, of the fauna and flora that surrounds us.
Finally, the young students were able to try the seats of the Alfa Romeo Giulia car radios from Radiomobile, experiencing the thrill of radio communications through the Operations Center. Some of the young students in fact supported the 112 operator by communicating via radio to their classmates who in the meantime had climbed aboard the “gazzella”.
During the entire visit the students were also accompanied from the Presidents of the Sections of the National Carabinieri Association of Comacchio, Codigoro and Lagosanto who told them some anecdotes of their past as Carabinieri and of their present as volunteers still at the service of the citizens.
It was a morning of play but also of teaching and education where students were able to experience first-hand the activities of the Arma in a perspective of closeness to the Institutions and above all of growth of civic sense for these young citizens.
