Verona: seasonal events continue with "Typical restaurant... in summer".
Il Municipality of Verona, in collaboration with the twenty restaurants in Verona included in the "Typical restaurant“, established with the “Municipal regulation for the valorisation of Veronese food and wine“, he undertook one series of actions aimed at promoting and enhancing typical local products and, at the same time, to encourage the use of local raw materials in the preparation of dishes, to discover the flavors of the Veronese tradition and also to spread knowledge of the typical products of each season.
In the "Restaurants“, I traditional dishes represent in fact the 50% of the gastronomic offer and they must be prepared using 50% typical products from the Province of Verona or the Veneto Region. I holders of the Typical Restaurants are engaged, four times within a year, during a period of approximately fifteen days, to organize events during which menus featuring the chosen product will be offered to the public to represent each season. In these stores, the offer of wines also favors the denominations and companies that produce and bottle in the Province of Verona.
"Typical restaurants” during this summer edition, which will take place from the 29 July to the 13 August they will offer their customers the delicate fish flavour of the lake, reworked in different variations according to typical local recipes. It will come later the summer dish par excellence is also offered which sees in combination the Soave raw ham with melon from the Veronese plain and finally peaches.
La the majority of the products will be supplied by the Poli Graziano company of Oppeano and other companies in Campagna Amica.

The partnership with Coldiretti follows the idea of a short supply chain, with zero km products, ambassadors of seasonality. The chefs of the twenty establishments that adhere to the specifications of Typical Restaurants will add the local seasonal products already mentioned in their menus, from 29 July to 13 August".
They remember the protagonists of previous editions which were:
Spring: asparagus and peas” of Colognola ai Colli and the strawberries;
Winter I broccoli of Custoza, il red radish of Verona, the savoy cabbage Michelina, the lame as well as gnocchi;
Autumn: pumpkin, chestnut, red radicchio and pomegranate.
