Campobasso, the twentieth edition of the "Michele Buldrini" literary prize begins

Campobasso, the twentieth edition of the "Michele Buldrini" literary prize is underway.

Final lines for the twentieth edition of the “Michele Buldrini, Regional fiction prize announced and organized by Municipality of Campobasso – Department of Culture and by 'Italian Readers Union, with the artistic and organizational direction of Brunella Santoli, and with the patronage of Province of  Campobasso in the context of I'll tell you a book- Permanent laboratory on reading and narration. The super-jury of writers is in fact working to decide the winner of the 20th edition which recorded an extraordinary participation.

Many manuscripts have reached the table of the jury of the regional prize, which has now become an unmissable event for many aspiring writers which for twenty years has offered a unique opportunity to compare themselves with some of the most important names on the Italian narrative scene. Under scrutiny by experts, the works of young people aged between 16 and 36 years who will compete for the title of overall winner of the competition. In fact, starting from last year the jury will be asked to decide on a single winner, since the School and Youth sections have merged into a single section; a choice dictated by the desire to allow "young writers" of different backgrounds to compare themselves, in line with the idea that talent can best express itself in a broader cultural context, free from constraints dictated by age groups.

As per tradition, the winners of this edition will be identified by a super jury of writers composed of some of the most important exponents of Italian fiction.

Guido Catalano, Teresa Ciabatti, Ivan Cotroneo, Diego De Silva, Marcello Fois e Anthony Pascale, coordinated by the organizer of the prize Brunella Santoli, Artistic Director of the Italian Readers' Union, will meet in these days for the final stages of the selection that will award the title 2022.

During the awards ceremony, which will be chaired by Mayor Roberto Gravina, the writers/members of the technical jury will read the winning stories to the public. This is a moment particularly awaited by young authors who will thus have the unique opportunity to compete with prestigious writers of international fame.

The first place winner will receive a cash sum of 500 €, while for the second there is a prize of 300 €. The two recommended by the Jury will receive vouchers worth 200 € for the purchase of books made available by two bookshops in the city.

La Final ceremony of the XX edition awards ceremony will take place Tuesday 29 November   18.30 hours in the Hall of the Constitution of the Province of Campobasso, in the presence of the writers Ivan Cotroneo, Diego De Silva and Antonio Pascale.

The event is open to all those who want to celebrate the twentieth edition of the award.
