Grosseto: The third edition of the International Competition for Orchestra Conductors “S. Koussevitzky”.

The Teatro degli Industri of Grosseto is preparing to host the third edition of International Competition for Orchestra Conductors “S. Koussevitzky”, scheduled for October 13th and 14th.

An event - organized by the Scriabin musical association and supported by the Municipality of Grosseto, with the involvement of the "Città di Grosseto" Symphony Orchestra - of great cultural, musical and promotional value, as evidenced by the previous editions in which a total of 130 competitors participated coming from 31 nations.

The competition, open to directors of any nationality, without age limits, identifies - following an initial online pre-selection phase in which two videos of a maximum duration of twenty minutes are evaluated - eight competitors who, on 13 October, will have thirty minutes of rehearsal to perform on the repertoire composed of songs by Mozart, Elgar and Tchaikovsky. The jury will then select three competitors who will enter the final round, scheduled for the following day, with a concert open to the public.

“We would like to underline” – say the mayor Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonna and the councilor for culture Luca Agresti – the cultural, musical and promotional value of the event. Events of this kind spread and make the art of music accessible to all and contribute to increasing the prestige of the city of Grosseto on a national and international level".
