“Messina Street Fish”, the event dedicated to street food in all its forms, music and entertainment was presented this morning in Zanca palace, present the mayor Federico Basile and the councilor for entertainment and major city events Massimo Finocchiaro, during a press conference he took Alberto Palella as director of the company “Eventually” and creator of the taste format. The event was organized with the patronage of the Municipality and Metropolitan City of Messina, the Chamber of Commerce, the University of Messina, and with the support of private sponsors. Mayor Basile will inaugurate the event, which will start tomorrow, Thursday 22nd, at 18pm, in the redeveloped arena of Capo Peloro, to end on Sunday 25th. Regarding the setting up of the village in Capo Peloro “Messina Street Fish, the summer spin-off of the Messina Street Food Fest, included in the program of events promoted by the municipal administration for this summer 2023, will return one of the most evocative areas of Messina to the enjoyment of citizens and tourists in the city.

An aspect that testifies to the step by step achievement of this administration's desire to regenerate and redevelop city sites to act as a backdrop for the holding of events that represent territorial marketing tools necessary for the relaunch of the overall image of Messina through the valorization of traditions local gastronomic events, with a view to benefits and positivity to increase tourism both with the food offering and through a series of entertainment events that will take place during the Messina Street Fish event" specified the Mayor Federico Basile.

“Messina deserves a relaunch and the administration is aiming for these events that offer gastronomic innovations and the best of street food. In this case, the protagonist will be fish, one of our gastronomic excellences, but not only fish, there will be space for the performance of musical bands and DJ sets to enliven the part dedicated to entertainment in the name of the culture-music bond accompanied by flavors of our land, with the aim of promoting the enhancement of attractiveness factors in a tourist perspective, in order to contribute to local economic development through the involvement of entrepreneurial realities present in the area" continued councilor Finocchiaro.

Will 33 operators of taste to prepare fish recipes, and dishes of the best Sicilian street food, desserts and gluten free specialties; there are six beverage stations and a space, in addition to the typical products of the island, will be dedicated to new proposals which, starting from local ingredients, will propose new preparations. The four-day program includes the opening of the village from 22pm to 18am on Thursday 02nd, while from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th it is possible to access from 11.30am to 15pm and from 18pm to 02am. Tokens are the only currency accepted at the boxes set up inside the arena; one token is equivalent to 1 euro and can be purchased directly at the cash registers.
