Messina: The 28th edition of the Giardini Naxos Children's Film Festival is underway

Messina: The 28th edition of the Giardini Naxos Children's Film Festival is underway.

The event, as usual hosted in the historic venue of the Don Bosco Oratory, will kick off tonight at 20.00 pm with the membership of all children and adults and, subsequently, the trailers of all the films in competition will be presented.

The Festival evenings they will be presented by Father Gianluca Monte, parish priest of the Parish of San Pancrazio Vescovo, of Giardini Naxos, promoter of the event and by the artistic director Ignazio Vasta.

La evening of Tuesday 25 July, will instead be characterized by the awarding of the Naxos Prize Seahorse to Maestro Beatrice Venezi, internationally renowned conductor and artistic director of the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation.

Graduated with the highest of votes at the Conservatory of Music of Milano “Giuseppe Verdi” in piano, composition and orchestral conducting, Beatrice Venezi has collaborated throughout her career with internationally renowned performers such as Bruno Canino, Stefan Milenkovich, Valentina Lisitsa, Andrea Griminelli, Eleonora Abbagnato, Carla Fracci and Andrea Bocelli.

With over 160 symphony concerts and 50 shows of active work, the Maestro has worked for the most prestigious Italian and international musical institutions. Currently Advisor to the Minister of Cultural Heritage for Music, he has held the role of Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra della Toscana, Principal Conductor of the Orchestra Milano Classical and Principal Guest Conductor of the Puccini Festival of Torre del Lago.

In During his early career he received various awards, in particular for his artistic abilities and commitment to spreading classical musical culture among young generations, including the historic Scala d'Oro Award, the Pegaso della Toscana Award, the Kinéo Award and the Gentile da Fabriano Award.

Si works for the diffusion of classical works in an accessible and captivating way and, in December 2022, he had the honor of conducting the traditional Christmas Concert in the Senate of the Italian Republic, broadcast live on RAI 1.

He attributes a social value to music, bearer of important messages of openness and innovation especially in environments traditionally dominated by the male gender, where even today, in some parts of the world, there is skepticism and perplexity about the male roles played by women.
