Crotone: The 15th edition of the "Verziniadi" is underway.

Back to Verziniadi, one of the most important sporting events in the province of Crotone, with its fifteenth edition, for two days of sport, culture, sociality, on 5 and 7 June.

At the starting line over 300 students from IC Verzino, IC Simonetta” Caccuri,
IC “A.Volta” Cotronei and IC Crucoli, involved in 10 sports disciplines: 7-a-side men's football, 5-a-side women's football, men's and women's volleyball, shot put, long jump, high jump, sprint running, cross-country running, Mountain biking.

The activities of this 15th edition organized by'IC VERZINO in collaboration with AVIS, Misericordia and the Municipality of Verzino and with the presence of the sports doctor Dr. Bruno Isabella, they will take place at the sports facilities located in the territory of Verzino in the province of Crotone

For the Manager Marsico, who strongly wanted the return of the Verziniadi in 2022, after years of stopping, it is "a promotional event of the Student Sports Games, since the now consolidated tradition, combined with the availability of the teachers and schools involved, makes so that a higher number of students, mainly those most penalized by connections, can get closer to the GSS and the spirit that distinguishes them in the provincial context. The event which took place from 2003 to 2019 and then restarted in the last school year 2022 in the schools of the Province of Crotone has acquired over the years the educational value of a moment of social and cultural meeting between pupils from different backgrounds. I thank the school principals, the Sports Science teachers of the schools, the Provincial Coordinator of Sports Science of Crotone Santino Mariano and the organizing teachers Gennaro Verbaro and Samuele Albanese, all the partners and the entire teaching staff for the availability shown and the enthusiasm in the accept our invitation.”

The Verzino school which includes the communities of Verzino, Pallagorio, Carfizzi, San Nucola dell'Alto, Savelli and Umbriatico, despite operating in a highly disadvantaged social and economic context due to depopulation and the lack of services and infrastructures, still demonstrates turns its cultural and educational dynamism and affirms its fundamental social value and reference for the internal area of the upper Crotone area.
