A large turnout is expected for the seventh edition of "SWIMTHEISLAND Sirmione", the open water swimming weekend, created by TriO Events

La s aims to grow, entertain and, as always, fascinate thanks to its wonderful locationth edition of SWIMTHEISLAND Sirmione, a historic event for the community of open water swimming designed by TriO Events under the patronage of Lombardy region, Province of Brescia e Municipality of Sirmione.

Saturday 25 e Sunday 26 June on the Brescia side of the Lake Garda there will be no shortage of opportunities to challenge yourself right down to the last stroke, based on your preparation, choosing your favorite distance from the various scheduled competitions, supported by Jaked.

We will offer the participants and the public of the event a unique show, as only Sirmione can offer, made up of history, culture, food and wine and the colors of Lake Garda".

A two-day event dedicated to sports and tourism, as he also points out Andrea Rosa of TriO Events"The organizational machine is working at full speed for an even more engaging seventh edition. We expect a 20% increase in registrations, seen the growing interest encountered by competitive athletes, but also by families and enthusiasts from abroad, who represent on average 15% of those present and who choose to travel to discover the beauty of this historic centre. We want that SWIMTHEISLAND represent one celebration for the entire territory, so we also invite citizens to share the emotions of the event by reaching theExpo Village at Piazzale Porto".

The races on Saturday 25th June

We will start with the strokes of the very young KID'STHEISLAND on courses of 100m (6-7 years), 200m (8-9 years) and 400m (10-12 years). It will then be time for the teams of the Family/Team Event (800m) and the MWM Relay relay (800m), to arrive at the Short Swim (1.800m) with the spectacular passage under the drawbridge of the imposing Scaligero Castle, symbol of Sirmione.

The magical atmosphere of Saturday will culminate with the Sunset Swim (1.500m): the Caves of Catullus, the remains of a sumptuous Roman villa among the largest in northern Italy, will be the backdrop for an unforgettable swim at sunset. The swimmers will pass through the archaeological area to reach Jamaica beach at the tip of the Sirmione peninsula, where they will accompany the descent of the sun by swimming towards the historic center to toast the Pirlo Party with the coolest cocktail in the world according to The New York Times.

The races on Sunday 26 June

On Sunday 26 June there will be space for the queen of the event, the intense Classic Swim (3.200m), with a breathtaking route that includes the circumnavigation of the marvelous Sirmione peninsula, from the Diaz lakeside to the enchanting Spiaggia del Prete with its white pebbles, framed by the castle walls. Finally, the absolute novelty of the season, which will also see the Combined Swim take place for the first time, the combined Short 1.800m race scheduled for Saturday and Classic 3.200m on Sunday.

The stages of the circuit and the SWIMTHEISLAND Academy

The circuit will start in Sardinia on 21 and 22 May with SWIMTHEISLAND San ​​Teodoro. After the Lombard stage, as per tradition SWIMTHEISLAND Golfo dell'Isola will close the circle as the main event on 1 and 2 October in Spotorno in Liguria. This last challenge will be preceded by Swimtheisland Academy from 28 September to 2 October. The training days led by Simone Menoni, former cross-country national team and coach called up several times with the Italian Open Water Youth National Team, and Matteo Furlan, champion of the Italian National Team, intend to offer technical and tactical advice with which to best approach competitions and swimming outdoor.
